  • They're not the one doing whataboutism. The topic of discussion was the impacts of farming and the use of migrant labor. "Whataboutism" is leveraging an off-topic criticism to distract from something that disproves your belief. As an example, imagine someone who was both unable to defend the exploitive labor practices Harris advocates for, so they suddenly pivot to talking about something wildly unrelated like military policy.
