  • For food, they said they would take money from your possessions to buy McDonald’s. No choice of what food, no choice of better food, no choice of when.

This is hilarious, I feel like there are better ways to show kids the horrors of imprisonment than telling them "you don't get to pick your value meal."

  • That's the problem when people are born on 3rd base. They get to walk it in and think they hit a home run when really they just did what any normal person would've done. Someone else would probably even do it better.

  • Exactly this, I would've bought one eventually if he'd just shut up, a lot of would.

But why would I support an openly racist, fascist, fuckhead trying to buy his way into power? Toyota, Honda, Kia, and all the other corpos are plenty evil and have the manufacturing and support experience an auto maker needs.

The idea of a generic parts "libreauto" is cool. A frame/chassis designed to accept drop-in parts from other established manufacturers so you could part out wrecked cars and assemble them into your own frankencar.

  • That's an interesting observation I'd never thought about before. You're right, "common" just refers to the common culture around you. The common sense approach to something in Germany might be entirely different than common sense solution in Japan.

  • Larry David, co-creator, head writer and EP for seven seasons, is funny. The character of George is a stand-in for Larry and if you watch with that in mind it becomes more apparent that Jerry is essentially playing "the straight man" to his funnier cast mates. Which is great because as you mention, Jerry's not very funny or relatable and comes across as a pompous dick most of the time.

  • Sexuality is never a good thing in women but it’s always a good thing in men.

I think that's becoming an increasingly old fashioned way of thinking. Men who are adulterous or sleep with "too many" women are just as often seen as incapable of commitment or serious relationships today. For example the "jokes" about Leonardo DiCaprios inability to date anyone over 26 as he ages are tinged with an implication it's a mental health issue and will prevent him from experiencing real connections.

edit: in hindsight of course an element of the comments on Loomer are sexist, it's ridiculous to say they're not. That said she's a cunt that can fuck right off. Have a good day though sorry for any misunderstanding.
