  • I think there's a useful discussion for why these technologies can be effective at getting people to connect with them emotionally, but they themselves don't experience emotions any more than a fictional character in a book experiences emotion.

Our mental model of them can, but the physical representation is just words. In the book I'm reading there was a brutal torture scene. I felt bad for the character, but if there was an actual being experiencing that kind of torment, making and reading the book would be horrendously unethical.

  • The rain must fall.

  • The usage of the yellow rice below the chin like shading screams AI to me. If it was real they probably would be leaning more into a flat cartoon art style and just have the neck just go down as white.

Also, that grain of rice making his right nostril is jank.

  • Make sure you use organic short half life poisons. Don't poison the surrounding areas with rainwater runoff just because you want to live in a nightmarish hellscape.

    Desolate responsibly.

  • No, I'm saying we need to clean house before looking across the aisle. If we can't even convince our own side that this is urgent and not a game, how on earth are we going to convince the people actively tearing the country apart?

Also, if you think a well reasoned article and an open ear are enough to get the republicans to change, you're sorely mistaken.

  • It doesn't help that Indian English often still uses a lot of colonial terms, like Capsicum instead of bell pepper. That being said most Indians in the US will adjust to the local vocabulary pretty quickly.

  • I mean, it's a valid question. Why are the Democrats censuring their own? Why aren't the Democrats supporting the popular candidates who can mobilize voters but are more progressive than they would like?

  • So what would mobilizing them look like? They know what we want them to do, is it a lack of motivation? A lack of incentive? If the threat of losing their core voters isn't enough to get them to act, what is?

  • It's not that we don't recognize the fault of Republicans, but yelling at them is less effective than mobilizing resources that are supposed to be more accessible to Democrats.

There are tons of campaigning dollars, expertise, and connections locked away behind intransigent Dems.
