The Artist (2011) é aquele filme avassalador de Oscar que acabou esquecido no rolê porque, infelizmente, é um pouco esquecível mesmo. Mas tem seu charme e vale assistir. Trata-se de um filme sobre o jovem e o envelhecido no cinema.

Esse me surpreendeu positivamente, porque só de ouvir a produção dos anos 1980 impregnada de naftalina me deu um leve nervoso, admito. Mas fui me soltando a partir da faixa 3 e no final eu já tava jamming tranquila. Para mim, a faixa destaque é Running With the Night.

Eu achei o final um pouco cringe (kkkk), tive a impressão de que tava ouvindo um discurso baseado na música Born This Way da Lady Gaga. Kkkkkk mas foi surpresa mesmo (ou teria sido, se eu não tivesse lido spoiler antes).
E mano, ontem assistindo o filme eu falei que logo mais o véio Francisco ia de base e o fidiputa resolve morrer menos de 12h depois. Tô me sentindo a própria cria de Satanás. SOS

E aí, qual a opinião de vocês sobre Conclave?
Eu gostei, e não achei nem um pouco exageradas as comparações com clássicos adolescentes tal qual Mean Girls (2004). Isso não é um demérito per se, a intriga e a fofoca ajudam a construir a humanidade dos cardeais e outros ordenados envolvidos. O filme é sério e debochado ao mesmo tempo.
O que eu não gostei: o drama é TÃO exagerado que tem horas aproximando-se ao caricato. Principalmente pela trilha sonora exagerada. Mas é a Igreja Católica, se tem drama nesse mundo tá nessa instituição movida a fofoca e vinho e homossexualidade, então perdoei. O tom didático do filme me irritou profundamente em alguns pontos, ESPECIALMENTE no final (que eu vou evitar descrever porque né, spoiler). Algumas escolhas de recursos narrativos, como gente arrastando o pé pra um lado e pra o outro toda hora, e os personagens tirando o óculos a cada 2 minutos, foram uma irritação minoritária pessoal minha.
Mas, no geral, achei que entregou até que bastante. Tem

It's very important to give context on the diagnosis. Any psychiatric diagnosis is heavily tied to its historical context. Autism as a diagnosis was not the same in the 1970s with the first DSM as it was in 1994 with DSM-IV and we didn't talk about spectrum until 2013 with DSM-V. "Back in our day we called that an engineer" that's because some things that are listed as disordered were not a disorder back then.
But yes, I get your point that while some would be put in institutions, others wouldn't be seen as disordered. I should have given it some thought before my comment.
I think that some of my reluctance with OP is that not all autism in the past was the "quirky engineer" one, there were already people being severely abused for a condition that didn't even have a name yet.
