News about the asset editor!

They replied this on the forums just a moment ago with some insight to the priorities they are working on right now.

TLDR: All hands are on deck for the release of the expansion Bridges & Ports; after that works resumes on other things.

Unfortunately, the Asset Editor related work has had to be pushed to the background while we have been focusing on other priorities. After the Bridges & Port related work, we will have the team tackle the remaining issues, and the asset editor for buildings will be released as soon as it’s ready.

The plan is currently to support building assets (and props) and expand the supported asset types in the future. Once we have established basic support for assets in the Editor, more complex asset types, such as vehicles and networks, can be worked on.

    We’re currently working on:

Fixing the issue with too few resources produced by offices being consumed, causing office company worker counts to drop to the minimum amount.

Cities Skylines 2 is getting a SteamOS certification!

  • There's disasters in CS2. I have them disabled, so I don't know how they look like, but I heard they are not as strong as in CS1.

  • I hope so, I can't wait to rebuild my "quays" with proper ones this time. I also hope there's some variety as in CS1 (the ones I said, with stairs, etc...)

Modular Service Blocks (a very useful CS1 mod) is now available for Cities Skylines 2!

  • No ideia. There was quays in CS1 added by a patch update and 'Bridges and Piers' CCP that introduced different ones (Fenceless, with steps, tiered, etc). Maybe that's what going to happen here: You get the basic version in the update and the DLC brings more variety. Wiki with Water Structures for CS1. If I'm not mistaken, this DLC will be free for those that bought the Ultimate Collection.

  • It depends on your gameplay. I enjoy playing it, but I certainly still miss some mods (they are coming bit by bit) and the huge lack of building assets (mainly because the editor is not out yet). You can check the available mods here: https://mods.paradoxplaza.com/games/cities_skylines_2

  • Seems like we're getting quays, customisable piers and bridges!!

    Anniversary Patch 1.2.5f1 Patch Notes

Hello Mayors! We have a new Patch for you! Patch 1.2.5f1 arrives with A bunch of new parks that we mentioned briefly in the Anniversary Announcement on the 10th, but it also contains many fixes! Let’s jump in!

This patch includes several quality-of-life improvements related to homelessness:

    · Homelessness statistic

    · Homelessness added to Population Info View

    · Homeless households visible and selectable in parks’ Selected Info Panel

    · Improvements to when citizens move out to reduce homelessness

These changes make it easier to track homelessness, find homeless populations in your city, and check the situation for individual homeless citizens. If the homeless in your city are generally employed, they simply need affordable housing. If they are also unemployed, they will need jobs suitable for their education level before they can leave the homeless status behind. Additionally, we have improved the logic behind newly adult citizens moving out of their childhood homes. Pre

'Biffa' shows what's coming with the new update patch (1.2.4) and Content Creator Packs

"We take a look at all the Free items and Patch Notes for the 1.2.4 release (out for the public on the 18th March), plus the new Creator Packs: Dragon Gate by Emperor Li, Mediterranean Heritage by Zarrix & Leisure Venues by Gruny. Enjoy :-)"

  • I love CS1 as well, actually I built my first computer to play this game. I love how much content it has and how you can make everything using mods. I also like to make pedestrian mods and love to watch citizens using the public transport/stations/hubs. I feel like in CS2 it's missing these latter ones.

I'm interested in seeing your city downtown with that river system!

I love playing CS2, I feel like it certain areas it was a huge upgrade. Sadly they are having all those problems, mixed with bad decisions/public relations but the game has a good base, I hope they can solve the problems and focus on developing it. I bet that the game will be really good in 1 year. The asset editor is a must that is missing right now, I still have plenty of empty areas in my city that are waiting for the perfect asset (elevated train stations please!). At least, the CCP Around the World filled some of the void. When was the last time you played CS2? I remember launching it day 1, I was so excited! But lauching the game and seeing it running like I had a potato pc as a sad beginning.

    Cities Skylines Community Guidelines

    #Our Guidelines

    1. General guidelines

    • Treat others how you'd like to be treated, be respectful and consider the person on the other end of the screen. Stay focused on the topic at hand and don't resort to personal, or political attacks.
    • We're here because we all love Cities: Skylines, make sure the people who have worked hard on creating it (the developers, the publishers, the asset creators, and modders) get their fair credit by not pirating the game, and only linking to approved resellers and the Steam Workshop.
    • Put your best foot forward and try to share high-quality examples of your work no matter what your skill level is. Your city deserves better than a blurry photo of a screen from across the room.

➧1. All content must be related to Cities Skylines.

    • Any content about the game, but not from the game, can only be shared as a link contained within a text post (see Rule 7).

Welcome to the Cities Skylines community on Lemmy!

    Hello!

I asked the Lemmy.ml mods to mod this community as the old mod was non-existent and being the community with most users on Lemmy, it was sadly kinda abandoned. Now it's time to create our little corner in the Fediverse for the fans of these big simulation games.

    What changed?

    • I updated the community logo (there was none before) and the community banner to the images of Cities Skylines II.
    • Also changed the sidebar to include information about the games, some community guidelines, links and community filters that work as "flairs" on some Lemmy clients.
    • I'm setting up a bot that will post 'News and Announcements' from the PDX Forum. This way you will keep updated with the announcements, the most recent patchs, updates and DLC's.
    • I didn't and I will not delete any content posted to this community until today!
