  • Have you met our lord and saviour, retro gaming?

  • Name it whatever. An alarming number of Amerikkkans can’t read anyway

  • Got laid off from my career job in broadcasting and picked up work unloading trucks at Walmart at night. Hated it but needed the money. One night, when I was already at my wit’s end due to being treated like a child as seems to be the company’s SOP, I was unloading a row from the truck and it collapsed on me. Corner of a box hit me just below the eye and cut the skin. So I’m in the employee bathroom with a cold paper towel trying to get it to stop bleeding while cursing to myself. Not yelling but normal speaking volume. I guess it was audible through the door because I step out and a manager is there. The first thing they say isn’t asking if I’m ok, but rather chastising me for cursing telling me to stop. I look at her, say “like fuck I do,” take my name badge off and toss it at her feet and walk out.

  • You don’t know how a person on the street or anywhere else will respond to ANY interaction. By this logic we just shouldn’t talk to one another.

We ALL get it. You’re burned out. Take a seat champ. You’re also alone in your thinking here and trying to force others to commit to saying fuck off to any who want to genuinely learn and maybe help our communities.

  • 2946292946% THIS!

The whole “I’m not your Google” shtick has done more to harm marginalized communities and minorities than it’s helped. People who are “ally-curious” often are afraid to expand their knowledge by asking first hand experiences. So they go and Google shit. And then they come to their own conclusions and are subsequently shit on by people in the very community they support because they’re accused of assuming one’s experience.

I’m trans in a small town of about 7k. I can say with certainty that my openness to have respectful conversations about it when asked has improved things overall. If I had taken the stance presented here, the first, and likely ONLY first hand conversation with a trans person these people would ever have would have been a negative one and therefor painted us ALL negatively.

Just get back to having open, honest fucking conversations people.

Fuck. Just… FUCK. This just pisses me off.

    Ok. Deeeeeep breaths.

  • I think the hardest part for many, myself included, was getting over the poor animation budget. The stories are on par with a lot of TOS imo once you park your visual brain at the door. And they were able to do things in animated form they couldn’t do on a TV budget. Getting to explore more aliens that didn’t just have slightly different forehead ridges is nice.

  • As someone who couldn’t drive for several years due to epilepsy, and living in an area with precisely zero public transportation, can confirm. My mental health improved dramatically once I felt I was in control of when and where I could go again.

And the public transportation bit is the biggest hurdle in the US. It’s a very spread out country and public transportation, trains, and the like are not seen as a priority for those spending the tax dollars.

  • It’s been a long road…getting from there to here. It’s been a longtime, but my time is finally near.

I stuck through all of TAS, even added the Orville. And I even watched that Kelvin stuff and the kiddie Scouts…oh my.

  • I’m finishing my chronological rewatch I’ve been doing this year this week!

Are there any sub-$200 handhelds out there that smoothly run Game Cube games?

  • Loading . . .

  • I’m sorry for being a bit rude to your mother

  • Oh I WHOLLY agree. I just find the willingness to concede that some may be good people under it makes people open to the conversation. Then you logic them into a corner and help the see that all cops ARE in fact bastards.
