That was easy.

Should hopefully be a 5-minute change, and should fix weird algorithm issues with Hot showing you months old content.

EDIT: Upgrade completed at 21:35 PT

We jumped from like 11-14 subscribers on Final Fantasy to 29-34 in a very short span, but so did every other community on this instance, including the basically-empty ones. Not organic growth at all.

Hi all, I am planning to upgrade the server to 0.18 tonight.

I have done most of the preparatory work and will stand it up alongside the existing one first to make sure I don’t lose our data like last time.

Once everything is good to go, I’ll need some insignificant downtime to actually do the swap.

EDIT: I had unexpected plans tonight, pushing update to tomorrow.

EDIT 2: I have spent hours trying to fix issues on the 0.18.0 upgrade. pict-rs (the picture backend) appears to have weird issues. I am going to wait until 0.18.1 as 0.18.0 has other semi-downgrades and footguns in it.

EDIT 3: The update to 0.18.1 went VERY smoothly.
