  • The discussion in this thread is kinda shallow and weak. There's a fair amount of overlap especially as the Conservatives have shifted further to try to reclaim some of their losses to the PPC, but you should be comparing their platforms not just taking peoples' word.

There are indeed nuances, no surprise this community considers them the same, since they overlap in some "dealbreaker" ways for the average person here, but know your enemy...

This is like saying the NDP and Greens are the same, and arguably they're closer than the PPC and Conservatives depending how you look.

  • Newspapers aren't allowed to print whatever they want, news networks can't straight up lie on TV, why are we obsessed with the idea that tech platforms need to be able to wash their hands of everything on their platform.

Maybe we don't need the web to be full of user submitted content. I remember the early Internet, it was way better than what we have today.

  • I think the actual mechanism is that a Conservative member in a safe riding (very unlikely to lose to another party) would step down, triggering a by-election, and the party leader would run as the new Conservative candidate.

There's a chance he would lose again

  • As a person that doesn't live in the US I can't imagine our relationship becoming whole until each and every one of these people sees justice, vigilante if needed.

There's no Bidening out of this with aisle reaching foot dragging "let's move past it" bullshit.

I know my opinion doesn't matter, but I hope it gives some perspective.

  • In the same way the Americans have been a threat to ideologically misaligned countries around the world for decades, through influence, interference, subterfuge, and meddling.

Americans own our media and boost or snuff our politicians, or apply pressure on us to change our policies, China may very well get to the same level of influence over time. They've started on that road.

  • Yes they're extremely similar policies and even that isn't as black and white, although the Conservative plan benefits rich people and companies buying multiple homes it also benefits old people downsizing and freeing up their previous homes.

Both only affect new builds which are a tiny fraction of home sales.

    Here's a good analysis https://youtu.be/x5pPxhTNmqA

and another that includes the NDP
