  • 100% every 3/4 there is a new Plex iOS update. I can’t even watch a full episode of something; I get a network error, and videos buffer a lot. When I play the same content on Infuse, there are absolutely no issues, no buffering.

  • I’m using one of them but it blocks Twitter/X for some reason.

  • Copy-paste from the Arc browser. It’s a hit-or-miss feature; it works 50% of the time.

  • /config is just a folder where you put vpn config files. Would you mind sharing your docker compose file.

  • Yes, I only want to use a VPN. However, when I turn on a VPN, I encounter several other problems. For instance, I have difficulty consistently verifying that I’m not a bot on most websites. Additionally, YouTube videos don’t play at all unless I’m logged in.

  • It’s not available for Mac unfortunately.

  • The Docker version you’re using supports VPN? I used VPN+QBit Docker on my old Unraid server. You just put the VPN configuration file in the /config folder, and it worked seamlessly without disrupting any other services.

I have seen some people mention using a vm as an alternative. I’m not familiar with how it would work.

I have also tried using OpenVPN and WireGuard with AirVPN; however, Mac versions do not have the split tunnel feature at all.

    Split tunnelling airvpn on macOS

Does anyone know how to enable the split tunnel feature in the Eddie client on macOS? I’ve heard that newer Macs don’t support this feature. Are there any other workarounds I can use?

I have a media server set up on my MacBook Pro m1. I’m trying to figure out a way to only use the split tunnel feature for Qbittorrent through the Eddie client or OpenVPN/WireGuard. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • I find Libreoffice to be bloated, so I prefer using OnlyOffice instead, which is lightweight.

  • Yeah I use Filen with Nextcloud as a backup. It’s not the best but does the job. Better than most of the corporate ones

  • Could you please share the link to that add-on you mentioned? I have been using Simple Tab Groups

  • Can’t wait for the day Uk, Germany, France, the dictator USA and most importantly, news outlets are being held accountable for genocide.

  • Tab groups is a must have feature along with workspaces.

  • I was also considering trying out CasaOS/ZimaOS until I came across this.

  • Nazis and the fake Jews fighting antisemitism, ah, totally makes sense.

  • If you mainly do torrenting, AirVPN is a good option. I have recently moved away from ProtonVPN; it’s too expensive.

    Lemmy android client

I’m curious if there’s any Android Lemmy app that supports push notifications. If not, is there a way to add push notifications to the existing apps? (When I say push notifications, I mean getting notifications from community posts.)

Looking for the best solution to block ads/trackers on my entire home network.

I want to block ads and trackers on the whole home network. I’ve been using adblockers and trackers for years now; I currently have a Raspberry Pi. I was thinking of setting up Pi-Hole with AdGuard. Any other suggestions are welcome. (I can’t use a custom router, because my ISP doesn’t allow it)

No single country should be able to restrict speech across the entire internet. That's why EFF celebrates the news that Australia's eSafety Commissioner is dropping its legal effort to have content on X taken down across the globe. This development comes just days after EFF and FIRE were granted off...

    What are your must-have programs?

Trying to discover new/unheard Linux desktop programs (Sorry for the confusion).

Edit: I apologise for confusing a lot of people. I meant Linux desktop “programs” coming from Windows/Mac. I'm used to calling them “apps”.

Edit: 🙌 I’m overwhelmed with the great “programs” people have recommended in the comment section. Thank you guys.

Hey folks, I just got Bazzite OS KDE up and running on my PC. Being a Linux newbie, I'd love some tips, tricks, and app suggestions if you have any. 😅 Switching from Windows has been a bit of a maze with all the distros out there, so any pointers would be awesome!

The amount of tutorials out there is overwhelming. Hopefully 🙏 you guys point me in the right direction.

Edit: That is a lot of great information. I really appreciate you guys taking your time to share your experience/advice.

Looking for ShareX Alternative on Linux

Even though this question has probably been asked countless times in other communities, I still want to know: what tool do you think comes closest to ShareX? I'm particularly interested in features like image capture, video recording, GIF creation, and OCR reading all in one tool for Linux.

    A proper Split View implementation

I know Firefox has a Split View feature; however, it’s not as convenient as Vivaldi or the Arc browser. I love how The browser company implemented the Split View screen. Firefox Split View is pretty limited, and I’m unsure if it has improved since its release.

What does the community think about that?

Here is an example of Arc browser split view:
