  • why not use more than one? use ddg for general searches of non location based things. then switch to a different preferred search for location based things

  • I'm interested in seeing how this changes when using duck duck go front end at duck.ai

there's no login and history is stored locally (probably remotely too)

  • i came to say that we can definitely have both. thank you for explaining this thoroughly.

  • i would have gotten it faster if it were January 2nd

  • i think the difference was only ever going to be when they felt like running the extra processing to do the work.

  • so these are the only 2 ways then? huge if true

  • wait, weren't they always doing this?

  • all communications through a service that millions of Americans do not have? has to be illegal

  • depending on the hat i think you can just put it below anyway and bend the flat cable down instead of up. as long as you can still screw it in place and it fits in a case you'll be fine

  • i don't have anything useful to add except that I'm saving this because i also want to know the same thing as you.

hoping to learn how and start hosting my own matrix server over summer. depending on how things work I'd like to migrate my family chat there, possibly even host space for my kid's friends if that's a thing they have interest in using

  • remember the time that Leon Skum turned starlink off for Ukraine just before a Russian attack?

he can never again be trusted. especially when it comes to safety and security

  • different, yes. but by how much and will it be different in ways that truly matter

  • yeah, might seem good to have yet another choice, but it's an illusion

  • depending on if you know or trust whatever mod you bring in i recommend you stick around for a bit if only just to make sure things don't get ruined. no need to be active unless ya know, you need to

  • 70 is plenty. you should see new stuff a lot. i don't see too much but i blame it on the fact that i don't follow too many. i guess there's something else here

Open up your Android phone’s Settings app and you’ll find dozens of different options with little guidance on what those options do. Some of these settings have a serious impact on your privacy and security, altering what data gets shared automatically with apps, data brokers, and Google itself.

What sorts of changes you should make depends on how you use your phone and your security plan. There is no one-size-fits-all collection of recommended settings to change. Instead, we’ll explain what settings do to help you decide if they’re worth altering. This guide cannot cover everything, so for a deeper dive, check out our Privacy Breakdown of Mobile Phones guide.

    playing DVDs on Windows

Windows stopped including a codec to play DVDs a couple versions ago. what's a good way of still playing them on Windows 10 or 11?

i own DVDs but I'm looking for software options that work. VLC doesn't unless i get that missing codec, etc

edit: everyone is stopping that VLC can do it with no extra requirements. it didn't work before but I'll try again

the government has claimed that law enforcement agencies do not need a warrant to sift through [previously collected data]. EFF argued for over a decade that this is unconstitutional, and now a federal court agrees with us.

option to auto open links in a new tab

can this be a setting in our profiles? I hate leaving and having to come back. if for no other reason than it might lower page loads a little bit

    my current routine - 4day (2x2)

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dAW_d8rN9tfTYrV9NPzc8FjXcm7HJ3NhJzRCbSSgEww/edit?usp=sharing

it's a 4 day schedule with big emphasis on chest/back which is twice a week (1 day that's chest heavy and the other is back heavy)

the remaining 2 days are arms and legs days with one day being squat/quad focused and the other being a deadlift/glute+ham focus.

I have been doing asynchronous splits for a couple years now (that means I rotate through the days without paying attention to what day of the week it is) I won't necessarily do only 4 days a week and will workout anywhere from 4-6 days just cycling through the plan.

I'll bump the weight on individual movements whenever I have pushed the previous weight through the rep ranges.
