she, her, etc.

  • duly noted

  • thank you, i'll give both of those a try!

someone actually gave me that exact hand cream a little while ago, but i never knew what it really helped with, so i appreciate you bringing it to my attention. fingers crossed it holds up well to the chemicals i work with! :)

  • those look like a nice solution, and there are definitely many activities where i think this is a super good idea and will definitely try this out (i already sometimes use gloves for weightlifting!).

however, i also work with a lot of hot burny stuff, and as such i need to be able to feel the heat with my hand without directly touching stuff (often holding the back of my palm close). how easy is it that with these gloves?

how do I stop dropping stuff?

  • hell yeah!! its awesome that you are able to have such a good community around you with regards to this stuff. being able to be yourself without having to worry about repercussions is one of the best things in earlier (and later) transition!

may the shenanigans be bountiful in fulfillment :)

  • aww thank you!! i bike a whole lot and so my wardrobe choices right now are quite restricted, so i like super appreciate it

but yeah though plushies are like the awesomest thing ever, even with friends too! like from going out shopping for them to using them as bribes i find there is SO much opportunity for various shenanigans. personally my bed is like ACTUALLY full of them, not to mention the various other furnishings in my home. i am glad there are alike minds here hehe :3

  • oh it came with the bicycle! i got the bike for fifty USD at a local place that specializes in cheap, old and weird bike stuff

if you wanna source one for yourself, from my experience you could probably find one in the bicycle parts section of your local discount home improvement shops (there are a few where i live at least). i see them mostly on cruiser/"womens" bicycles. there are definitely better options but this is quite cheap, and in a pinch you can cut and attach some bits of plywood/osb from that one construction site to expand your cargo area further!

due to the shape of the baskets (narrower at the bottom than the top), as noted by @anothercatgirl@lemmy.blahaj.zone more "square" stuff generally doesn't fit so well. of course for boxes you can just put those on top with a ratchet strap.

i bike because my only other options are walking, which is too slow, and the bus, which while quite reliable and perfectly adequate for my purposes can still be beaten by bicycle. nonetheless i still quite enjoy it, so as a fellow bicyclist i sincerely hope your weather situation improves!

  • okay now i cant unsee how TIE fighters look like modified and weaponized cable spools, initially only used for construction purposes. my head canon is that they were tough, and plentiful in used quantity for relatively cheap, and became pretty much the intergalactic version of those technicals that the taliban use.

jokes aside though, i'm not too familiar with these vehicles. like would like a motor rebuild be decently feasible or is this like the starfighter version of a used mercedes?

  • first of all, i would like to note i am blessed in that the women in my family have BEAUTIFUL genetics when it comes to muscle and fat building/distribution, and that this likely won't be your situation. nevertheless, i myself when starting HRT would have liked to have heard of a couple accounts similar to mine, because these would have eased my anxiousness with the sudden changes to my body.

i am currently at 6 months, at first two milligrams per week of estradiol cypionate, and then transdermal patches with spironolactone (total of four .2mg/day patches per week with 50mg spironolactone per day)

after about ten or so days, my breasts were considerably tender, and i think a little past two weeks you could notice some breast tissue if i shook my torso. i also began to get a LOT more susceptible to emotion.

about two months in i started not being able to hold onto objects as well just by clamping on stuff with my fingers (i wasn't good at this prior), and at about three my cystic acne just... stopped being a problem, which was cool. :) honestly kind of expected it but i'm surprised just how effective it was.

at four months, my breasts were fairly noticeable, and the increased fat in my buttocks and thighs was becoming decently apparent. please do note i have little fat on my body in general (weigh 9.5 stone/60kg, a lot of it muscle, and am six feet/185cm tall). my body hair was also growing considerably less, and i noticed for the first time a little fat redistribution on my face too! facial hair still isn't fun though

    as of now:

    • pretty much everything related to my reproductive system barely works (tucking is also easier)
    • building muscle is a bit more challenging, but is doable, at least for me
    • i can definitely be a bit more emotional/mood swingy, but i feel SO much better mentally
    • my temperature regulation is a lot worse and i try to make sure to wear something warm that can also be shedded with ease
    • i noticed a lot more body smell than before, and i must take care to not drench myself in sweat.
    • measured my breasts to be B cup size (a bra is super necessary!)
    • nipple soreness comes and go, but nevertheless they are always quite sensitive
    • i bike a whole lot, and already had the "T-rex build", but now my body is becoming very much an hourglass figure (like my family). i definitely am tall, but my legs are especially long compared to my torso, and due to more current clothing trends that means i am very lucky in that i somehow have more clothing choices with traditional womens clothing than mens, of course your mileage may vary
    • my allergies seemed to improve?? i don't know if this is related, but it happened
    • also became a LOT more fond of physical affection

overall have liked HRT a whole lot!! my only regret (like many other people) was not having started it sooner, but apart from that having boobs and thighs RULES

please note that i started (and still am) fairly young and am very physically active, my body was also on the more feminine side to begin with (again, like much of my family).

i sincerely wish you the best with your future endeavors! :)

  • i'd personally liken it more to one of those flat pack jeeps. with a little technical know-how you can get something decently barebones going, of course with ample opportunity for fun!!

kit cars do vary, and there are some that would fit this pretty well, but i'd say much of them are like linux from scratch if anything.

you get a list of parts and stuff, and some instructions on putting it together, but at the end of the day (realistically past that and into the early morning in my experience with LFS :3) the builder is much relied on for the actual customization and patching of everything together!

  • and they are each all awesome in their own right :)

  • 196 @lemmy.blahaj.zone

    german democratic rule

  • i find this a surprisingly elegant solution!!!

it's nice and simple to put in place, and if you have this class of audio equipment at your whim, you probably have something to scavenge the copper from

copper does oxidize, but so long as it can trade broker enough electrons around, i'm definitely making use of this idea in the future, thank you for the post

  • hormone fluctuation is wacky, i use transdermal estradiol patches

really wanted more plushies yesterday, so just chose to hop on my early seventies bicycle in a quick six minute decision. pedaled until i ended up in the next town over, a bit over two hours/forty km/twenty miles. had to bike back in the rain at night, but so worth it.

here in cascadia i hear "there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing". sadly i forgot to remember about makeup and rain, which was not so fun. alas cute stuffed animals are much more worthwhile. the awesome cookies my sister baked in obscene quantity helped fuel me immensely. :)

on an definitely unrelated note some "thigh high" (already with my very tall stature barely knee high) stockings i purchased a few months ago slightly before start of h.r.t. no longer fit me at all

a friend did promised to show me how to knit sometime soon so fingers (or knitting needles) crossed i can indulge myself (and others!!) with some nicer cuter comfier socks, for now leggings it is for the warmth.
