  • Quite a big cost increase. However, it's not that big of a deal IMO -- Poor Canadians don't travel out of country much to begin with, so this disproportionately affects the wealthy and those who need to travel for business reasons (can probably get it expensed anyway).

  • ID checks are a solution used when there are different rules for both adults and children. I don't see how that would apply here, since the rules in NY appear to be the same in this case.

    They were turned back to Montana on the American side – and to US border control officials. Bill’s US visa had expired; Karen’s had not.

    Her visa was valid, but it can be risky in general crossing any border with somebody who has invalid documents. Make of this what you will, but it is important context missing from the headline.

  • The Liberals aren't woke leftists. Nor are they MAGA conservatives. They're just sorta center, increasingly conservative but not particularly extreme. Not my ideal party but compared to what other countries have been electing I'd say it's kind of a relief.

  • Trevor name dropped, but protagonist looks like Sonya -- am confused! Given the timeline, I think Trevor must be the old guy and the protagonist is someone else. Perhaps the child of Trevor and Sypha.

    Excited for a new castlevania game, but skeptical of these developers. I didn't like Dead Cells. I hope either that it's not a roguelike, or that they've improved on their formula and fixed the problems with dead cells like pool dilution.
