  • UK, so announced in the evening before it happened. My patio was in the process of being done and they struggled to get the slabs as all the builders merchants were closed, fortunately it did get finished - their last job for a while. Other than that I was working from home but I don't remember if that came in slightly before lockdown was officially announced. Went from five days in the office to none.

  • My work laptop always complains that it can't shut down the "Shutting down" app when it tries to shut down.

  • It supports touchscreen, which works really well, and motion on the controllers - which works very similar to the original on Wii.

I wouldn't use the analogue sticks, it didn't even occur to me that was an option. Maybe it's because it's a pirate version? Perhaps try supporting indie developers?

PS5 will probably be stuck with using analogue sticks? So that's likely a miserable experience.

  • Just as a point of interest, it doesn't work properly in the Android version of Firefox. Use Chrome.

  • Guessing it's the sales tax? Most countries will price things with tax included, not add it on afterwards.

  • Yucata - online boardgames, take your turn when you can, no pressure.

Maker of triangular-shaped almond-and-honey-laced chocolate bar says it has made ‘difficult decision’ to withdraw product

I'm not sure I even realised there was a dark chocolate version.

    Are spoilers broken?

I just happened upon a post with a spoiler and couldn't view it.

Edit: works in the preview, doesn't work after posting

  • Three: English, Welsh, German.

I used to be able to do French, Italian and Japanese, but I've managed to forget everything above about five.

  • I had a combi microwave back 20 or so years ago. It was my only oven at the time so it was ace. I found the grill+microwave (or maybe it was convection +grill+microwave) combination was wonderful for frozen chips.

ITVBe TO CLOSE AND REBRAND TO ITV QUIZ

ITV2 will now officially become the linear home of all of ITV’s best-known reality series, as The Only Way is Essex, The Real Housewives of Cheshire and Real Housewives franchises from around the world move from ITVBe to the UK’s most successful digital channel for 16-34s, in June 2025.

As the flagship commissions move across to their ITV2 broadcast home, ITV will retire the ITVBe brand from its portfolio in June 2025. ITV plans to use the channel slot as ITV Quiz, drawing on ITV's popular, market-leading UK quiz and game shows, and the success and learnings of ITVX FAST channels.

  • Big hop! You can make it!

  • Neither one of us can remember who started it

DeReamer opens it every year on her birthday, April 1, then signs it and mails it to Kroger, so she can open it on her birthday, May 20

    a) There are dates written on it so it shouldn't be too difficult to work out.

    b) Given the proximity of the two birthdays, almost certainly Kroger sent the card originally.

    Refresh shows wrong post

Clicked the above link, which worked:

    Local post link

However it shows there are comments but Connect isn't displaying any.

Refreshed by pulling from top. Now shows completely different post:

    This one

    Local feddit.uk version

Incidentally just before this I edited a comment and instead of the usual bug where it can't find it, it showed me the wrong post. Not sure if this is all related.

(Will edit images in asap - seem to have been blocked from uploading for the moment)

  • Soon it'll be a legal requirement to have a picture up of him in your house or workplace, which you must stop to revere once an hour.

  • To be fair I'd not heard of Malbolge so whatever.

  • It's probably easier for the human to recognise "Human Connor" than it is for the cat to learn a new name, right?

  • Directly below there was also the woman who had been convicted of stalking a celebrity chef.

    https://www.thecomet.net/news/22144784.woman-harrassed-chef-lived-fantasy-world/

I'm not sure why I thought it was her as that's not where I lived, but maybe she'd had to find somewhere else to stay for a bit.

  • I saw something similar - I was trying to add an image into my comment. I tried a few different things, and the preview was showing it ok, but when I saved it didn't show the image. I checked the web version of Lemmy and it was showing there.

  • I would have put Perl as lawful evil, Brainfuck as Chaotic Evil and maybe ASM should have been Neutral Evil

  • I run it on a Raspberry Pi 4 (I happened to have a spare one, also BUY EUROPEAN and all that). There's a dedicated image for it.

    Lemmyverse links

Is it possible to get lemmyverse.link URLs to resolve internally? And preferably open in Connect when tapped on elsewhere?

I just tapped one in Connect and it opened in a browser, which was a bit annoying!

Subscribing to this PieFed community says I've unsubscribed

Not sure if it is because it's hosted on PieFed, although that shouldn't matter, but trying to subscribe to [email protected] gives a message saying I've unsubscribed. It also doesn't show any posts although there are some on the host instance (that's probably a federation issue though, nothing to do with Connect).
