  • But will the DLC still work properly if you already have it? Or do we have to buy a switch 2 version of it.

Same for Pokémon or any other games with DLC moving to the switch 2 with or without upgrades.

I am hoping all purchases transfer and work at least as they do now for the switch games.

  • What's stopping the key on that cart locking to the account of the first user when you download the game?

Have they said that won't happen?

  • NHS = free or subsidised treatment for most things so most people don't have or need separate health insurance

Workers rights and unions are pretty strong in most industries so while disputes may drag out sometimes it's better than going in one at a time.

  • What about the 'American' companies that plonked their headquarters in Ireland for tax purposes?

Surely that makes them Irish for tarrif purposes?

  • So many firms with different rules, seemingly a law unto themselves. No way to appeal when they know they are already right.

They should not be able to impose the levels of fines they try to now. They should be spot checked from time to time to ensure they have processes in place to deal with people fairly.

  • Bowtie for the duck. Not for me though.

  • For us no.

    For Joe public yes.

It's all about the numbers, go after a few to scare the masses then give them a safe alternative.

If enshitification comes in to it and it starts to look better to pirate (shows/films disappearing, ads, bloat, needing 15 different subscriptions and so on) then piracy will increase again.

For me Netflix/Disney+/Prime have laid the foundation of no longer relying on Sky's overpriced satellite packages at least so there's a positive.

  • It's about making it easily available so it's more effort to pirate it. If it's available on a streaming service you already have or you can purchase it for not a lot then most people will take the easy way out and pay.

  • Came here to say just that. Mr CEO over not thinking this would happen is just detached from the world.

Lonely people aren't lonely by choice a lot of the time, they just can't find a place they fit in. You find out there is a place you can chat with "someone" that understands and that is all it takes.

  • I think I've settled on a new 4k monitor to replace the pair of aging NEC screens I have.

I can never think of anything, which is worse as my birthday is in December too 😔

  • Vampire Survivors, Wreckfest, Slay the Princess, Hue.

  • I'll go plain old paracetamol which works for me most of the time. If that fails then ibuprofen would be my next choice.

  • Emulators have always existed alongside their consoles. That's to only way you get enough talent involved in a project like that. Difference is these days computers are fast enough to emulate the consoles much better and the architecture they use is a lot closer to what the PC is using anyway in a lot of cases, or at least a documented strain of ARM with a few custom tweaks.

The people working on the emulators are pioneers forging a path that takes a massive amount of time and effort. Trial and error, tweaking and ironing out the kinks can last years.

  • Didn't The Incredibles have a backstory like that where supes are basically illegal after they caused too much collateral damage?

  • In the UK at least they'll show a price then a member special price next to it, they used to have a while section of them in the catalogue they sent out each month.

Other items list prices then special discounts at the till for members.

  • Costco? The members price when you have to be a member to shop there?

    Always thought that was weird.

  • I still play, I can see me running out of desire to play as much with the changes to the way new content is delivered.

Unless something changes soon for the better I can't see the game staying afloat for more than the next couple of years. Which is a real shame.

  • No cosmetic items should cost more than £10/$20 imho £50/$70 is a full game for crying out loud.

  • Forgive me if this is an overly simplistic view but if the ads with cookies are all served on Google's platform say then would all those ads have access to the Google cookie jar?

If they don't now then you can bet they are working on just that.
