  • It's deeply funny that Trump managed to sabotage these conservative parties that would have done whatever he wanted , just because Canadian and Australian politicians still have the political instincts to say "fuck you" when a US president tells them to hand over their lunch money and then kiss his ass.

Somehow, European politicians still haven't figured out that one neat trick.

  • If the US lasts another twenty or thirty years, that's probably how our media will start portraying the Republic of Afghanistan and the occupation there.

The US has never had a shortage of people who want to memory hole any embarrassing facts and rewrite history the way they think it should have happened.

  • The Japanese government is currently trying to deal with food shortages from a stupid agricultural policy that has sent the price up rice up 300%. Meanwhile, the US is busy blowing up its own economy while China dog walks Trump over tariffs, and on the military side, the US inventory is so depleted from Israel and Ukraine that they would run out of munitions within the first week of any actual shooting war.

  • China really is living in the future. Building new space stations, high speed rail and ever cheaper, cleaner energy.

Meanwhile , a single US state is approaching its third decade of trying to build a single line of high speed rail, and our federal politics consist of watching our most ancient boomers build a Gestapo while they are actively dying of old age.

  • Whatever happened to people asking their parents to record a few messages so they can hear their voice after they've died, or maybe asking for a lock of hair. Our culture is so terrified to talk about or acknowledge death.

  • The most disgusting part about this whole episode is that all it took was Trump threatening to cut off the money and weapons.

Biden could have done that at any time over the past year and instead just kept sending tens of billions of dollars, without conditions.

  • Yeah, because it's patently obvious that the US is in terminal decline, while China is going to be the worlds foremost economic and manufacturing power for at least the rest of the century. Even TSMC has facilities and employees in mainland China now.

  • It's way too late at this point. Two decades of insane US foreign policy have forced China, Russia and Iran into a partnership, so instead of taking on China they'd be taking on all of Asia, and that's just not possible.

  • Permanently Deleted

  • How the fuck can they read accounts of SS Galicia killing tens of thousands of civilians, and burning men, women and children alive and then be like "Thank you for your service".

  • Yeah , the big advantage of drones was that they were supposed to be cheap , but the defense companies fixed that a long time ago.

There's also been bloat from only ever using them in the war on terror, against farmers and shepherds who could never shoot back, but mostly it was the profit margin. Which is why US drones now cost 30 million to 100+ million , so expensive that you can't afford to lose them.

  • The weirdest part of all this is watching those daily casualty updates by the OSINT guys.

Every day they claim that another 500+ Russians were killed and one Ukrainian stubbed his toe, and they've kept on claiming that all summer, even as Ukraine was doing WW1 style assaults into minefields and trench lines, without air support, and with a severe disadvantage in artillery. Those guys must be getting fucking slaughtered.
