Although I changed my pants that day, I refused to get rid of the pants I peed. It was my own sign of defiance, a sign of connection with those who are suffering, a sign of mourning for those who have died. I decided to buy a shadowbox for them, mounting the pants inside. I have those pants on my wall now above my desk, a constant reminder of how easily the things we value, like freedom ... can be taken away from us.

I think Teamgroup T-Force is a good brand, they're well known but cheaper than Samsung and Kingston
I think $1000 is a great budget, especially for 1080p
Edit: also if you are getting a new monitor IMO the only fancy feature worth paying for is VRR/Freesync, it basically eliminates most perceptible lag or judder because the monitor framerate and game framerate will always be in sync

Looks great for 1080p high/ultra, I don't know what the prices have been like lately but I built a roughly equivalent PC for someone and it works really well. What's your budget like?
The only thing I'm unsure of is the Kingspec SSD because I've never heard of that brand before

I was a lot more comfortable buying parts from Amazon because they had a really good return policy which took a lot of the pressure off

You can touch a doorknob or a metal shelf regularly while building to discharge and prevent buildup of static electricity

After the last 6 months I realize the site team was extremely correct to try to get rid of /c/the_dunk_tank

I prefer that old site culture

Holy shit I just tried to make a POC character in Oblivion Remastered and it looks like a cracker wearing blackface/yellowface/brownface
:yea:
It's worse than before, what the fuck

WW2 started in 1931 when Imperial Japan attacked China, liberal

Places like Iran, Syria, and Russia, the smaller of the rival blocs of capital, are siding with China

You are being proletarianized. No remaining vectors for new growth, means corporations are now also cannibalizing white collar workers.
The welfare states in northern Europe were created as a bulwark against the threat of unions "going Bolshevik," that threat has been gone since 1991 so those concessions are being revoked. Elevated wages are also being revoked. Very explicitly in the case of France and Germany.
Americans are buying up EU assets for cheap, the USA is cashing out on their investments during the marshall plan. Either workers (through their unions) regain enough leverage through strikes or capitalists take everything since workers have no leverage.
Crazy rent price increases in metropolitan centers are also really just clawbacks on white collar wages.

I don't know what that community looks like but mutual aid and community organizing will get a lot further than prepping
Production will always win out over scavenging and accumulation

This is also the root of why leftists hate bazinga solutions for climate change, it's seen as a dead end and the obvious fix is at the production level, the root cause of climate change. Communists have a focus on means of production, the hammer and sickle right on the flags are means of production.

Communists love tech, Soviet culture was dominated by futurists and despite being destroyed 3 decades ago still hold the world record for most space launches.
The disgust towards SpaceX is also based on a love of technology. Mediocre Internet isn't worth rendering our observatories useless and polluting prime orbital lanes.
Chinese socialism is also obsessed with tech, megaprojects everywhere, highly resilient public GMO crops massive investments in green energy and novel production techniques. Most of the CPC leadership have engineering degrees. Xi specifically engineered an off-grid bioreactor for winter heating (using animal waste no less) during his volunteer service at the countryside, he was in his 20s and almost got blown up while repairing it.

I've definitely turned into the paranoid nutcase within my friend group in recent years, I hate that everything is "smart" nowadays requiring an app/internet connection & account, just to do basic things that didn't require any of that before.
You would be entirely correct, these technologies are heavily subsidized by the surveillance state, and a convergence of capitalist interests that libs like to call surveillance capitalism.

Currency exchange rates wild af
Diaspora communities usually send money back home. You can get a lot of food on the table for your whole side of the family if you can get an engineering job.

Holy shit that is way farther than the Samsung zoom lens

So you agree they aren't going far enough lol
