  • 2 out of the 4 countries boardings Israel, Jordan and Egypt, have peace treaties with Israel. The Arab gulf nations were in the processes of normalizing relations.

Lebanon(Hezbollah) and Syria were basic Iranians proxy.

The only country that's hellbent on wiping Israel off the map, beyond just lip service, is Iran.

  • Permanently Deleted

  • They removed that question from the FAQ, but it still states in multiple other sections, in the same link, that they do not sell user data

    Am I reading this wrong?

    Edit: New FAQ

Mozilla doesn’t sell data about you (in the way that most people think about “selling data“), and we don’t buy data about you. Since we strive for transparency, and the LEGAL definition of “sale of data“ is extremely broad in some places, we’ve had to step back from making the definitive statements you know and love. We still put a lot of work into making sure that the data that we share with our partners (which we need to do to make Firefox commercially viable) is stripped of any identifying information, or shared only in the aggregate, or is put through our privacy preserving technologies (like OHTTP).

  • Unlike sewing, fabric manufacturing is mostly automated

Fast fashion still uses fabric rolles as raw materials.

The fabrics used in fast fashion are chosen for cost and workability, not durability and environmental impact.

premade fashion does produce fabric waste, it's unavoidable. However, the waste is lower than self made clothes due to the differences is production volume and optimization.

If you make your own clothes, you get to choose better materials, remove at least one step from the chain of exploitation, and learn how to repair your own clothes along the way.

  • Not as a title, but if i recall correctly, the first first article of the old constitution states that the Syrian Arab Republic is a Democracy. Also for what it's worth, the Baath party was also officially "socialist".

The lack of a monarchy isn't enough to qualify as a republic, the people need to also hold some sort of power.

  • from a linked article

Victims include a landscaper snatched in a Home Depot parking lot in Rialto and held for days despite his son’s attempts to show agents the man’s U.S. passport; a New York resident locked up for more than three years fighting deportation efforts after a federal agent mistook his father for someone who wasn’t a U.S. citizen; and a Rhode Island housekeeper mistakenly targeted twice, resulting in her spending a night in prison the second time even though her husband had brought her U.S. passport to a court hearing.

kinda hard to believe they're just mistakes, if the article to be believed.

  • Why would being self serving and old disqualify him from being a dictator?

He's behavior so far seems consistent with dictatorship. Disregarding laws, undermining democracy, promising protection for those who fall in line and retribution for those who don't, surrounding himself with yes-men... and I could go on for a while
