  • There's no API yet. Openreads is contemplating adding support.

Britain’s biggest broadcasters announce today their latest collaboration: the development of a new free TV service that will deliver live TV over broadband.

For the first time for free, British viewers will be able to easily browse and watch live TV channels together with on demand content streamed straight to their smart TV via the internet.

It’s an evolution that puts the distribution of free TV at the centre of the streaming age. The new service will provide millions of broadband-only homes with easy access to a single consistent experience for live free TV over IP. Viewers will be able to seamlessly browse channels through a modern and intuitive programme guide, and use innovative functionality designed to make it easier to find and explore new shows directly from live TV.

Set for launch in 2024, the new service, called Freely, will be built-in to the next generation of smart TVs and feature a line-up of public s

  • Did you create the community? If so I think you need to "transfer community" to another mod first. You should then see the option to "leave mod team" where the trashcan icon is on your screenshot.

The sea-ice surrounding Antarctica is well below any previous recorded winter level, satellite data shows, a worrying new benchmark for a region that once seemed resistant to global warming.

Imaginary Fairies - A community for artwork of fairies and other fae folk

I've created this and got it indoctrinated into the Federated Network of Imaginary Communities. So there's a now a dedicated community where you can post your fairy/faerie art.

    One of these should work:

  • I do, but I'm on a waitlist (and don't want to selfhost) so I've not been able to try it out yet (I don't make calls through WhatsApp, so I see the lack of support as a benefit).

  • There's a little edit button in the sidebar under the community name and next to "leave mod team". The save button is at the bottom one you've made changes.

  • According to their roadmap they're at stage v0.2+

So, you could say this is Alpha Alpha Centauri

    SUMMARY

    • The EU has identified WhatsApp as a gatekeeper in the messaging industry and has given it a few months to enable interoperability with other apps.
    • The EU's Digital Markets Act aims to promote fair competition and give consumers more options for alternative services.
    • WhatsApp has already begun working on interoperability with other apps, potentially allowing smaller players like Signal to compete more fairly.
  • On Connect, the latter works but the former doesn't. Weirdly if I click on my own username posted upthread, it can't find me.

  • Kbin does odd things with links and communities, so I think part of the problem is it has mangled or added some unexpected links when you've written the post. However, some of your links in the original post work for me on Lemmy ([email protected] is fine), so you might want to compare them.

I'm not sure why Lemmy uses an exclamation mark for communities when everywhere else uses an @. It would be a lot easier if it used @ then it's universal for Kbin, Mastodon, Lemmy.

The new communities group suggests to use the format I've used in my previous posts (basically /c/community@instance) - this won't work on Kbin because it uses /m/. It's better to use @ there as you said.

  • OK, so will probably miss loads, but try these for starters. Where I've found multiple for the same platform the more active ones are nearer the top.

    Links in spoilers don't work

The trending communities bot started using spoiler tags and it broke connect. I'll try to put an example here:

Basically it only shows code not the formatted version when inside a spoiler tag.

If I swipe a comment to the left to reveal the upvote, but don't fully swipe it and instead swipe back to cover it up, the upvote action still happens.

This bug seems to be present everywhere where swiping items is possible. I keep dismissing things accidentally by attempting to cancel an action!

    c/kfc mod banned

I notice the mod of c/kfc has been banned - probably because of the ridiculous number of communities they have set up mostly with brand names and no description/content. Anyway, I'd quite like to take over c/kfc and make it an active community. Can I be assigned mod/owner of it?
