Remember kids, the US government would absolutely never explicitly kidnap and traffick thousands of children for the sole purpose of sexual favors and blackmail. They're the good guys.

  • The material will run out after a few billion billion billion terawatts have been generated, assuming with use both uranium and thorium. It's like saying is solar free if the sun is going to run out?

  • Correct, right now they don't because there is a money incentive. The satirically asked question is who would do that job if money wasn't needed, if there was no incentive besides the work.

This study among others consistently show people want to work, in jobs that give them meaning, even when there is no incentive like capital or currency.

  • Ah yes, the actual original meaning of politically correct.

His words were awful and defending a mass murderer that has killed at least tens of thousands of Americans just during his tenure because their boss decided to cheap out is beyond disgusting for a political candidate, much less someone in office that wants to remain in office with all their body parts still attached.

  • All landlords are rich people that hoard land and then, if they're inefficient, hold it hostage in exchange for many times its worth.

It is literally the explicit purpose. And yes, some landlords own inns, that they rent to inn keepers and proprietors that then sublet. They do not run the inns if theyre landlords.

  • It quite literally is. That's the purpose of being a landlord, exclusively, is to lord over land and expand your domain with the profits.

All landlords are leeches, all landlords would rather leave homes empty than rent them as long as the line goes up, all landlords exist still lely to make money from having money.

  • Just a reminder, they're just better at being landlords. All landlords, every single one, is responsible for this, they were just too inefficient to raise rents this high this fast before becoming conglomerates.

  • It'll still be a huge employer, by way of more indie studios. AAA and other big publishing houses might go away, but they've been flailing for years specifically for the same reason this will fail; sameness and lack of innovation is boring.

If it were this simple to automate level design for infinite playability net hack would've stopped the updated in the 80s and we'd all still be playing it.

  • The fediverse is a complicated subject, even amongst those smart enough, or just clever enough, to find lemmy. Many users do think whatever instance they joined is the main one, still others believe .world or .ml as the "main" instance ruling over all others.

It's weird thinking of a service being this disparate, even if you try to use discord or other similar platform as an analogy, it still fails to acknowledge there is not central server or ruleset (beyond the software license itself).

Bluesky further fucked things up by claiming to be decentralized and federated, and then getting popular.

In short yes, many so think replying here means .world mods will ban their unrelated lemmy account from all of lemmy.

  • Working for my community, I like gardening and helping clean the community pantry. Work with people that care more about people than money and you'll center yourself outside of capitalism.

But before that, almost ridiculous amounts of escapism. I don't recommend that approach.
