we were both so excited to chat to Zach as we love his band and he was such a lovely bloke and a really good laugh

In January 2018, The Danish Broadcast Corporation (DR) aired a concert called “The Morricone Duel” performed by The Danish National Symphony Orchestra /DR SymfoniOrkestret, The Danish National Concert Choir with various soloists conducted by Sarah Hicks.

The music performed was titles from a wide range of western movies and mafia movies reflecting different perspectives on an Italian-American movie and film music style.

Featured composers were Ennio Morricone, Bernard Herrmann, Nino Rota and Sonny Bono with music from films by Sergio Leone, Quentin Tarantino, Brian DePalma and Francis Ford Coppola.

The oboist Henrik Chaim Goldschmidt plays Ennio Morricone's "Gabriel's Oboe" with The Faroe Islands Philharmonic Orchestra, 10.01.2009

Imperial Triumphant reports from the studio with special guest Tomas Haake of Meshuggah, during the recording of "Goldstar" - the final album to be recorded at legendary Menegroth Studios in Queens, NY by Colin Marston.

The meeting of Ennio and Chet in 1962 was a sublime encounter and couldn't have come at a better time for both artists. For years, many Chet Baker fans weren’t even aware these four Italian sides existed, as the four RCA songs weren't released outside of Italy until the early 2000s. For another, when most listeners reach for the singing Baker, they usually turn to his work with pianist Russ Freeman, although these four Italian tracks are easily in the same league. In August, 1960, Chet Baker was arrested in Lucca, Italy. He was convicted of drug smuggling and forgery and sentenced to a year, seven months, and ten days in a Lucca prison. When he was released early, in December, 1961, RCA Italiana organized collaborative sessions with composer, arranger, and conductor Ennio Morricone.

I just stumbled across this and it sounds great. Worth a look for any Chet fan.
