  • When Chatgpt 1st shook the tech world, I said thanks and please. Then at some point I stopped. I've just wanted to enter my prompt very fast. Grok 3 and Claude 3.7 sonnet (extended thinking) have been my go-to llm but when in a hurry, I just use the Gemini voice assistant or Meta ai – I have the Messenger app.

  • Saw this just now. Don't have many memories re my April 13. On April 10 my tummy was extremely painful and I puked. Diarrhea, I think. I took loperamide. I rested on the succeeding days, including 13. On 15 I was 💯. No more pain.

On another note, the past few days were OK. Hot weather but I endured. I oft thought re 👍 food and drinks. Those were some of the stuff that made me :).

  • Found your 5-month-old comment by searching zero dark thirty on Lemmy.

It showed that torture didn't work. Ammar didn't say crucial info after the waterboarding and during the 🐕 collar torture. Faraj didn't say crucial info after the waterboarding.

    Torture is 👎.

I viewed 0 dark 30 twice minimum. Great direction and acting.

Jessica seemed dumb when she met the al-Qaeda 👨‍⚕️. I think no Cia person is that dumb.

  • Lately I viewed Close encounters of the 3rd kind. Hasn't been my cup of tea. Boring plot.

But I've liked the time dilation aspect. The previously missing didn't age. Maybe their velocity was so high relative to Earth's velocity before landing on Earth. Maybe they were near a supermassive black hole. Maybe both?

It's a flick so maybe it was magic, not time dilation.

  • I fretted that the Bulls' win crushed the Lakers' morale. Seemed not. Doncic, Bron and Reaves cooked. What a luxury for the Lakers having someone who can score at will when badly needed – Doncic. Circus layups even when defended well. Long step-back 3s. Nba finals experience. He's young so he can improve greatly.

Edey played hard. Since the news that the Lakers looked for a 👍 center before the trade deadline, I've appreciated 👍 centers more. Adebayo, Edey, Gafford, Lively and others.

McDo latte and Burger king's salted caramel coffee are 👍

McDo latte (I ask for less ice) is 👍. It’s sweetened already. But not all the branches have it.

Burger king’s salted caramel coffee is 👍 too. I ask for less ice.

If you want Starbucks, their latte is 👍. I ask for sugar and less ice.

I read that unsweetened latte or flat white is 👍. I haven’t found an espresso shop that has 👍 unsweetened latte or flat white. I may be so :) after tasting such a drink.

I’m not a veteran espresso drinker.

If 1 asks me re a great way to know re the Chernobyl disaster, I'll suggest this. 1 of my top series.

I asked myself "How about the Fukushima Daiichi disaster?" I had 3 ideas –

    1. I found an eli5 explainer using Google.
    2. Plainly difficult's vid (the best for me)
    3. The days

Plainly difficult's vid is more detailed than the eli5 explainer so if you're in no rush, please watch.

I was at the 20:00 mark of The days episode 4 when I stopped due to its slowness. It'd be better if it had 4 or 5 episodes instead of 8.

  • 1 reason is that they want as much data as possible. They sell the user data. Or they use the user data to improve their targeted advertising. They want more ad clicks.

Re app versus site, many know how to block ads on browsers. With an app, the firm is hoping they can show you ads. Ads can be removed from some apps but the layperson doesn't know.

Best explanation of the 2-slits experiment for me

I read Feynman lectures on physics Volume 1 Chapter 37 for the 2nd time. It has the best explanation of the 2-slits experiment for me. 1 of the factors behind my <3 for physics is how amazing the universe is. The wave-particle duality is so amazing.

Chapters 1–36 aren't prequisites for Chapter 37. You can read 37 at once.

I like that Feynman wrote that there was no established idea deeper than quantum mechanics. There's still no established idea; quantum mechanics is a pillar of physics. I like that he talked a bit re hidden variables. I just wanna add that a hidden-variable idea must be nonlocal.

The Voyager coder is awaiting something from the Lemmy coder to make this feature. I'll continue using Voyager despite the lack of this feature. Does Thunder have audible notifications?

  • Your Sync is still 👍 so I suggest staying.

My Voyager's been smooth. Also, I finally have the crosspost feature. Sync doesn't have it. I prefer Voyager's implementation of crosspost over the Lemmy site's implementation. By "Lemmy site" I mean going to lemmy.world on my 💻's browser.

    Disappointments in Tenet

I wanted to decide whether or not I'd find Tenet great, so I watched for the 3rd time. Here are the disappointments I'm thinking about that made it less than great –

    1. Protagonist and Neil going up to Priya's home was baloney. A contraption that safely projectile-propels a human is complex. Their small contraption was unrealistic.
    2. The launch angle was key. A small error would result in Protagonist going to the building's wall instead of the balcony. Their projectile way was theoretically extremely hard and they made it look so easy. (I'm not considering the g's. A human can only take so many g's before passing out or damaging his organs. g's have been almost always ignored in flicks. I'm OK with it.)
    3. When they went up to Priya's home, how did they brake?
    4. Protagonist knocked out some goons so easy. Even a very casual Ufc viewer knows it's not that easy to knock out someone.
    5. They must make a 🔥 to start the Oslo vault's emergency process. Surely there was an easier way to m

Will we see beast Doncic versus the Mavs on the Lakers' court?

Some guessed that Doncic will score 50 or 60 versus the Mavs on the Lakers' court. I don't think so. They're his ex-mates. He has no negative feelings toward them. I think Jason Kidd wasn't part of the decision-making about the trade (it was all on the owner; he made the decision) and Doncic may be thinking that too. He has no negative feelings toward Kidd.

Lakers-Mavs on the Mavs' court in April tho. I think we'll see beast Doncic there. I hope the Mavs owner will be there so he'll clearly see Doncic's elite offense. "You don't wanna give me the $ I deserve? OK. That's all I needed."

My guesses may age like 🥛 tho. Let's see.

Samsung s25 ultra, s25+ and s25 have no Exynos versions

    cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/24616958

Just wanna post to share my joy. The 3 have the Snapdragon 8 elite globally. Maybe Samsung couldn't make an Exynos that was on par with the 8 elite. Props to Snapdragon. Fast and efficient. Chip improvements like this don't oft come.

If the other brands can't make a better phone, the S25 ultra will probably be the best big phone of 2025.

  • Phones are like 💻 now. The year-to-year improvements are tiny. Some factors related to this –

At least for folks like me who sometimes read re chips, chip improvements are 👍. But big year-to-year improvements are probably hard. If it was easy, Apple or Qualcomm may have already designed a chip that was 2 or 3 times faster than the old 1.

So hard to have a clean implementation of under-screen cam and face recognition sensors. Hence, hole punch. Samsung fold has an under-screen front cam but the implemention wasn't clean and the pic quality is below average.

So hard to make a 🔋 that's 2 or 3 times better than the old 🔋. The tech world has been so hungry for a 🔋 innovation for a long time. There was optimism re graphene. Idk if it'll succeed in mass production.

Some thoughts re the Nothing vid of @juxtopposed

Wanna share some of my thoughts re this. I don't wanna write a very long essay, so here are just 5 items –

    2. I'm OK with no sun icon in the brightness slider. I'll know that it's brightness even without any icon. But some may have a hard time, so adding an icon will be more user-friendly for them.
    3. Obviously Nothing didn't wanna overuse their dot matrix design. I side with Nothing on this 1. Putting it all over the os will be 👎 for me. But beauty is subjective. Some may want the dot matrix design all over the os.
