  • Oh fuck off. You didn’t imply or even suggest that anyone had Alzheimer's and you made a joke out of it. You suggested that he sent you an email instead of hitting “Allow”. That’s not something that people with Alzheimer’s do. People with Alzheimer’s have memory issues not an inability to read.

  • Additionally, Benevity could also have an option for donations to pro-Palestinian groups too since the only requirement for registration is that the org be a 501c3 which can be obtained by any non-profit. It’s not like Apple is choosing sides by allowing employees to donate to whichever causes they support as individuals.

  • The funny thing about this is that the first time I had that moment of realization was when I got the Sphero BB-8 toy from my kids for Christmas. It had a dedicated app. The reason it’s funny is because, out of all the things that I own, it’s the only app-driven one that still works. Sphero just merged it into their main app. Once that app stops getting updated, this toy will cease to work despite everything about it being functional. ☹️

  • What in the fuck are you on about?

It’s not pride in the lines drawn, it’s pride in the positive things that your community does on a national scale. That’s the point. You take the good things that you see elsewhere and you decide that you want to emulate that.

  • There are multiple ways. Statistical significance is largely used to determine whether a sample size is representative but it’s flawed on its own for some sample sizes as small effects can get exaggerated the larger the sample gets. Look up the methods for determining effect sizes and confidence intervals to determine the best route to go to see what minimum sample size is necessary to both have high confidence in the accuracy of the hypothesis and to ensure that the results have enough statistical power to detect the effect in question.

  • Only in that they want to move it to a more extreme version of what they already perceive it to be. They are not looking to change it based on any meaningful measure. Nationalists are almost always conservatives.

  • Patriotism and nationalism has zero place in society.

Not true. Patriotism is wanting and seeking the best for your country. Because our society relies on those physical divides, patriotism would actually improve society. Nationalism is deciding that whatever your country is doing already is the best simply by virtue of self-identification. There is no desire for improvement outside of an individual perception so it, functionally, can never offer any improvement for society.

One is potentially beneficial. The other is cancerous.

What's your favorite unintentionally awesome game plus music combo?

It used to be a given that Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon followed along perfectly with the movie The Wizard of Oz. If you started the album after a specific MGM lion roar, you could play the album on repeat and it would fit eerily close to certain scenes.

For me, this question comes up because I was playing Spider-Man 2 for PS5 and had Unicorn by GUNSHIP playing. I may have had it on shuffle but the number of times things lined up was crazy good. “Tastes Like Venom” as Peter gets the black suit for the first time, “Monster In Paradise” as he beats the snot out of the Hunters, and “Darkness for Dreams” as Miles and Martin Li enter Peter’s consciousness are literal perfection. The only outliers are the parts of the game, like Howard’s mission, where the song is meant to accompany that section of gameplay. Otherwise, I could play it on repeat and feel some kind of weird connection between the two separate but awesome pieces of art.

Lemmy, what’s your video gaming equivalent? I don’

Just added a series and "Episodes Missing From Disk"

I just added a series to my Sonarr list and a few of the episodes started downloading successfully (I did choose the option to search for monitored episodes when I added it) but several of them just say "Episode missing from disk" with the ⚠️ symbol next to them. When I click the "Search Monitored" button, nothing changes and nothing is added.

What's going on here? If I click on "Interactive Search", there are results that are returned and they don't have the red exclamation point and, as far as I can tell, they fit my criteria.

Why would some of these download and not others and why aren't the episodes with results downloading when I click "Search Monitored"? Am I misunderstanding the way this is supposed to work? I've never had this happen before but this never became an issue until I had to recreate the container.
