Now, obviously it would depend on how shit your life is with your parents vs alone, but in my case I was much happier being poor but living with great roommates and experiencing just simple privacy for the first time.
I think their point is that scaling to the volume of beef production of other countries isn't correct because the methods of production vary widely enough to produce much different results. As in, some countries likely produce more or less CO2/kg of beef so it makes no sense to simply scale the number they got from a single county to global scales.
Not the guy you're replying too though, so I'm not certain.
Exactly! My sister worries that she spoils her dog but I explain that animals aren't children, we aren't supposed to be raising them into well adjusted people who need to go out on their own into the world. They're just pets, we keep them for companionship and joy, and giving them simple pleasures and seeing them happy is the point.
I imagine they could if they knew exactly what you did and when, but if it doesn't get discovered until later and nobody knows what happened, it would probably be a bitch to figure out
Basically (and I'm not an expert here), the Uber rich get tax free spending money without taking big taxable salaries by leveraging their assets for super low interest loans. Current tax codes don't consider these loans as taxable income, but they're being used for the same things us peasants use our income for. By considering these cash flows as taxable, billionaires wouldn't be able to hide behind the "it's net worth not liquid income" bullshit these use to dodge taxes.
What I'm getting from reading these responses is that exercise can alleviate some of the crushing effects of depression, but because it's difficult and time consuming, you'll need a better reason for it than just "I'm suppose to" otherwise you'll just be making your life harder and creating an unhealthy relationship with exercise.
Everybody has to fight through the first few months to genuinely create a good workout habit, but if you start small (such as a 20 minute walk 3-4 days a week), you'll be able to ease into the really good stuff without so much hardship. The plan is to be working out for life, so what's the rush?
I believe the army created negative associations in me about exercise, since they used it as punishment and I always had the anxiety of my next PT test hanging over my head. It took a few years to disentangle myself from those connections and begin working out the way I wanted to and really seeing the results I was looking for. Now, after ~5 years of very frequent exercise, I'm finally getting to the point where I feel like it's a net positive to my mental health.
Seriously, I ordered a steam controller right before they were discontinued, and got a refund :(
That's kinda where I was sitting when I got the dlc. I had played thousands of hours and was moving my way into factorio and satisfactory. I bought biotech bc I loved rimworld, but I've not even finished an entire playthrough since.
You could certainly make the argument that reddit / Lemmy and anything similar is social media, but the anonymity means you aren't seeing or competing with people you know.
Idk, maybe I'm just coping, but I've never felt the need to do anything performative for the masses of internet strangers - unlike some friends of mine who studiously document anything fun we do for the ever important task of impressing people on Instagram.
Whenever the negative effects of social media come up, it tends to be about people comparing their "boring" lives with the carefully crafted veneer of other people's lives they see on social media. That doesn't happen (as much) when you don't use your identity and you don't know anybody else on the platform.
Early 20's here with 65y/o parents 👋
Even more so, it's turned into a hot button topic where people will be actively pissed of at you if you try to bring it up in discussion, calling it a "dog whistle" for nazi / anti-women ideology.
I agree that live games are a problem, and helldivers 1 had an offline option, but Helldiver's 2 being always online is better executed than any other live games I've seen. And, their servers have been needed up significantly since Friday.
Why are companies allowed to prioritize immediate money over literally everything, but when an employee does it suddenly "work isn't all about money"
rule
That works so excellently for the military. You're technically able to be called back in at any time, but you're also allowed to drink when you could reasonably expect to have that time off.
And the clincher; you're not allowed to be drunk on duty, so they can't even say "no worries, I'll pick you up" without implicating whoever ordered you in
There's been server problems, like, I can't stress how bad the servers have been... But it's really awesome when you can play.
It's the first game cranked to 11, similar gameplay loop as Deep Rock Galactic but it's all explosions and horde fighting.
We're a long way off from iron man type shit, but yeah this is the path to getting there. It'll probably take decades but hopefully we can iron out the kinks and inconveniences to not so much "solve" problems vs normal screens, but elevate our ease of access and capabilities.
If it fits, I sits
Can somebody seriously fit that entire thing inside them? That seems like it would cause internal organ damage to genuinely fit it all in :/
"when they think you're gross"
How can I know if someone thinks I'm gross if I haven't spoken to them yet? I should just assume I'm gross, always?
My back and knees also hurt and I'm 5'7", and 24 y/o. I think we're not evolved to walk on two feet >:(
Donkey Cong lol... DC. Not very inventive.

Jester just back from surgery. Cone, Feeding tube, Narcotics... shes having a rough day :(

After a move, my wife's computer has terrible internet speeds (Windows 10)
Hi all, I just recently moved into a new house. We set our computers up side-by-side, literally 4 feet apart, and my computer has excellent (enough) Wi-Fi speeds and signal strength. Hers is pitiful. I've replaced the ISP router with my own ASUS router, connection is stronger but actual speeds are still crazy slow for hers. I've removed and replaced the antennae on her motherboard. I've reset network adaptors, disabled and re-enabled drivers, flushed all wi-fi and internet settings via command prompt. I'm so confused because she has strong connection to the router, but around 10 mbps download speeds or less. For reference, my computer gets 400 mpbs routinely.
I'm just at a loss. Is this related to her motherboard hardware? The router? The position of her computer? (It's only 4ft from mine!!!) Anybody else dealt with something like this and saw it resolved? I'm thinking our only fix before I run ethernet up here is a new pcie network card.
EDIT: Just ran speed tests, both computers ha
