I've heard someone comparing it to the famous rubber duck.
What phone os do you have?
For me android automatically blocks 90% of spam calls nowadays. I can see them in the phone history, but my phone don't ring for them.
Some people like to travel in Minecraft. There's something in just picking a direction and moving there for days, exploring. In Minecraft you would never reach the end. In Luanti you'll hit the end of the world in a few hours.
Also for massive multiplayer purposes. Servers with hundreds of people are impossible in luanti's size.
And it's not just me. You go to Luanti's forum and one of the biggest threads is one asking for infinite worlds, players want it.
They used to say the the world size was embedded deep into the code and that a massive rewrite would be needed for that and that it was not worth it. But someone already made a fork that has this feature and didn't change that much so... And no, the fork is not a solution due to Luanti "modular" approach that fork is incompatible with any Luanti game so there's no game really just the base "engine".
I don't have high hopes of devs ever addressing that, so I stopped following the project. I hope be proven wrong, but something tells me that it's a change that will never me made.
I don't know about Luanti. The world size limitation is an issue that's hard to address, and there's some 'denial' going up within their devs about it. Stating that the current world size is more than enough, ignoring the great amount of people asking for bigger worlds.
Wait, now that I think about it, the observable universe have precisely that length because the speed of light, doesn't it?
"I hope you collapse" is my new go to insult.
There is idea in the three body problem novels:
The mere though of that is dreadful to me.
If different groups of people want different things for society, in most cases only one of those groups can get what they want.
It's good to push for what you want. But living means accepting that things cannot always go your way, and that sometimes things are going to go in the way of other people.
Is up to each one how much they want to pressure, invest and fight for making things their way. And when to give up and accept that something is going to go other way and find ways to cope.
I write this because what I'm lately seeing is people destroying their own mental health over some recent events. And that's not a healthy way to face the world I think. People have limited energies, and pushing everyone to fight all the time is devastating for some.
Maybe reflect if you are causing despair in others or if you are feeling dread by current state of the world. Reflect how much of what you are feeling are forced and how much is in your own control. And for all that's in your own control try to be happy.
At least that's my humble advice.
Not at all. I have my instance sitting on 100MG of RAM and 0% cpu usage. There's only 3 users that barely use it, but there it is.
It scales by number of users.
It's true that it's a resource hog, due to being written in python (who the hell though that), but it all depends on usage.
Interesting read though it's mostly a comparison on how well windows accessibility tools work on each gui framework.
I see potential for stable diffusion in a few niche areas. For instance ttrpg, getting imagery on the go for the session seems nice.
And of course there is.... This other thing...
These are amazing years to take notes on who is saying "this will disappear" or "this will be the future" and making sure to stop listening those who assured something as certain and that did not end up happening.
I've never felt fully represented.
Bro didn't live during sms era.
I'm not native English. It's imperfect English or writing in other language that not many would fully understand.
I selfhost a matrix instance just for myself and my bots. And send myself notifications to the phone client element. I can even trigger a fake VoIP phone call for really important stuff.
Notifications come through as any other message app notification. And calls do the same.
In order to get all notifications and not destroy your phone battery I found out that you need to download the google play version as you need google services for notifications.
I doubt is satire as the project was truly linked with trans groups.
Probably they just count as experience things that are probably not truly experience or maybe there's a lot that's being untold there.
Just last week I was setting up a matrix server.
I considered conduwuit but I had a feeling this might happen. Happy to stick with Synapse. It's just a shane that it's written in freaking python.
I hate so much everytime I remember what cryptocurrency was supposed to be and what has become.
First time I thought the same. But it getting spammed as much, surely have a purpose. To me it smells like bait.

(OPEN-ENDED) I think the point of arguing is not to convince the other part or the anonymous readers. The point is to understand them.

I think one of the issues with online arguing, from most takes on it, is that the main reason people have to argue is to spread an idea. Whether it's by convincing the opposing part of the argument and making them change their mind, or by changing or reinforcing the mind of anonymous readers of the argument.
Most of the time this leads to one of two conclusions: If someone tries to change the other person's mind they will, most likely, find themselves hitting a wall, which will lead to frustration, disinterest, or personal attacks once it's seen that the other person will not change their mind. If they do not care about changi

Do you want Artificial Intelligence to be invented?
This is not a question about if you think it is possible, or not.
This is a question about your own will and desires. If there was a vote and you had a ballot in your hand, what will you vote? Do you want Artificial Intelligence to exist, do you not, maybe do you not care?
Here I define Artificial Intelligence as something created by humans that is capable of rational thinking, that is creative, that it's self aware and have consciousness. All that with the processing power of computers behind it.
As for the important question that would arise of "Who is creating this AI?", I'm not that focused on the first AI created, as it's supposed that with time multiple AI will be created by multiple entities. The question would be if you want this process to start or not.

Which RSS aggregator do you use? I cannot seem to find one that works for me.
I cannot stand google news any more, too much spam, clickbait and advertisement. So I decided to try to selfhost an RSS aggregator to make myself a news feed that I would be comfortable with. Being RSS such an "ancient" thing I thought there will be many mature systems, but I'm not sure that's the case..
As far as my investigation goes there are two main options out there** TT-RSS (tiny tiny RSS) and FreshRSS**. There seems to also be miniflux but it supposedly have very few features.
So I tried the both main ones and I ended up kind of disappointed, I hope that I'm missing something. My requirements are:
1-Have a nice interface, card view, phone friendly. Basically being able to look the same as google news looked. So both have a pretty dated interface. And terrible responsive UI for phones. I was kind of able to make a "card view" with TT-RSS but looked hideous and didn't really work on phone screen, also applying themes broke TT-RSS, this will be recurring theme but it looks
