  • now imagine having a girlfriend / boyfriends plus 3 little ones?

Luckily i dont yet that going on but i feel your pain sometimes. I tend to go to bed around 11pm and get up at 5am. Naturally without any alarms. So i have 2 hours in the morning, i tend to do smaller home duties and then after work, study for 1 hour (no more no less), eat and then chill on the couch. On the weekend, get all of your cleaning, errands do as soon as possible which will allow the rest of the day to hang out with friends, or whatever

My biggest advice that I wish more people would is to go to bed on Friday / Saturday / Sunday at the same time you would throughout the week. Dont extend your waking hours and be sluggish come Monday.

Also enjoy your life. It goes quick

  • At the end of the day, any Distro that you pick will be essentially the same, as far as handling WoW. I have played WoW over the years on the multiple Linux Distros that I have used. The best way would be via Proton from within Steam. I tend to like the custom Proton version - Glorious Eggroll's version.

For Linux Distros, pick one that is heavily documented like Ubuntu / Mint, both Debian based and tons of troubleshooting articles in case you need to reference them. Tend to prefer Mint between these two, personal choice. I tend to prefer Arch based ones, since they have what is called the AUR (Arch user Repo) which allows more complied apps to be downloaded and used on the system.

  • I like Lemmy since its mostly about Tech but even the small communities over on Reddit can be more engaging then communities over here. I am involved in Trading cards and there just not the same community over here for it

  • If you are on Android, there are ways around the API thing. I was able to get my favorite Reddit app, RiF (Reddit is Fun) to continue to work after they took away API access.

https://revanced.app/ Can be used with various Apps as it patches them

  • Exactly the same for me, expect im running a 2060 Super, maybe 2070 Super, i forget. Been thinking about upgrading my system, atleast the GPU and been thinking about trying AMD this time around

  • F-droid works on any Android phone, doesnt need to be GrapheneOS. I have installed in on regular installs plenty of times.

i know its not as easy / inconvenient, but is there any way to use the companies website instead of the app? For example, i usually log into my banks website to check things or to make a transfer between accounts. Yes you cant scan a check or make desposits, but i also not use a lot of companies App's in the first place. I just dont understand why everyone needs apps - do you really need an app for your ISP?

  • back when i started with Linux, i would distro hop in the beginning since i was trying out different ones, making mistakes, but taking that knowledge with me onto the next one. Then i discovered Manjaro, then EndeavourOS and have been on it for years now

Have thought about reinstalling EOS once i rebuild my computer, but see how that goes -

  • Both /e/os and Iode have built in tracker blockers that do a pretty good job at blocking most trackers. Used /e/os with my OnePlus 6t and liked it a lot. Probably the reason I have used these l.

Upgraded to a OnePlus 9 pro and trying out Iode OS. Havent decided if I like it more, or just getting used to it.

Is there a standalone tracker blocker that can be a similar to these that can be ran on any Android OS?

  • Been using /e/os on my OnePlus 6t for nearly 2 years now. I like it for the most part, with its built-in ad blocker, and online ecosystem that syncs to my devices. Recent outage that they are still going through, has alittle worrisome but nothing being a big deal

Used to be Grey, now White but turning Orange

Got back in to this hobby about a year ago. Currently only have a 20 gallon tank, which houses 12 fishes, making it a community tank.

Things have been great but have to admit I have lost some due to not knowing what I was doing.

Fast forward and things have calmed down, without any others dying. Nitrate has been a constant battle which has led me to weekly water changes (50%). Also as of late but cutting how much I feed them in basically in half.

What it seems to be happening is that one of my Goldfish who is currently all white (used to be gray) is now turning orange. Is this normal?

Trying to generate interest in the community....What are you favorite card sets to collect?

    Hey guys,

New community that i created couple months back, and just getting around trying to generate content in here. Thought i would start by creating some posts, engage with the community and try to build it out.

For me, i got involved with Cardsmith's Currency Series 1 when it was released and really enjoyed hunting for a full pack, and sometimes getting lucky with some gem cards. In fact, my second pack, included a Ruby #50 - Rekt, labeled 2/25. Crazy to think that there are only 25 cards like this out there. Ill post a picture of it here sometime soon.

Anyway, just trying to generate some content in here

    Improved heart rate algorithm

The improved signal processing algorithm for the heart rate sensor was contributed by @Ceimour. They reworked the signal processing code that converts the raw values returned by the sensor, and also fine-tuned the senor settings. All in all, this new algorithm should return results faster (6.4s) and more often (each 800ms) than the previous one. You'll find more information about this change in this comment by Ceimour. New memory management aka Heap Unification

InfiniTime was previously allocating 3 memory "heaps" (memory area managed by software modules) : one for FreeRTOS, one for LVGL and one "global" heap allocated by the C++ standard library. To make memory usag

Is Lemmur planning on updating the app?

Just discovered the Lemmur app and at first glance, looks very promising. Opening up the app, nothing loads. Ok, maybe i need to log in. Tried in log into my account under lemmy.ml and it just spins

Headed over to their github page, and its been over a year since the last release, v0.8.0 that supports v0.15.0. Seeing that most, if not all, instances are pass this version, is there any plans on updating this app?

Is Lemmy or the fediverse doing anything about the recent surge in users, that could possibly be bots?

Been watching over the recent surge in fediverse users for about a week now. Last week, it was climbing what i would call naturally, organically. Now for the last couple days, its been like 350k in the last 2 days.

Love to see the growth of users, but these have to be bot created accounts. I dont want this to be bot infested community. I see the value in bots when used correctly, but lets be real - general population and bots could ruin this community.

Is there anything planned? Is there work from some third party to throw off the "stableness" of Lemmy / fediverse?
