  • 没有什么建议。我大部分只用句子Anki卡。比如Spoonfed Chinese等。

  • 没有区别啊!你是想说“韩”语吗?

  • 现在你用什么材料学习?

  • In Australia paramedics are tertiary qualified and very skilled

  • Can you do an AMA as a former kid?

  • But have you considered that I'm addicted to the blinding rage that I get from doing it?

  • Agreed they do have good articles and decent journalism even if I don't agree with their politics a lot. Its still far better as a source for news on China than any western media.

  • It looks like Trump might pull out of the planned AUKUS pact which as an Australian is something I'm hopeful for. I would love to see the embarrassment of my government if that happens.

  • I never actually knew what he looked like because I only ever listened to the deprogram podcast and never his channel. So weird putting a face to a voice after so long. Idk what I expected he looked like but it's not like that. Haha

  • Permanently Deleted

  • In a certain way my life is about prepping. I went into the health field because I wanted to have skills useful for society, not just in collapse but right now.

  • Yet the proposed voice had none of the powers which those bodies do. This guy actually discusses this point in this interview and makes arguments much better than I can. https://vid.puffyan.us/watch?v=G0kFfqb-63s

  • Theres no political will to implement any change that will materially benefit Indigenous people. Liberal politics at its core, this proposal was almost entirely symbolic. Now arguably that is still important, which is part of the reason I still voted yes. But I don't think this is necessarily such a great loss for progressive politics. As time has gone on I have much more sympathy for progressive No arguments of Lidia Thorpe and co. You can believe that we have this result because 70% of the Australian electorate are racist deplorables beyond salvation but I think that's not a useful learning from this outcome and it doesn't help progressive politics at all going forward to operate with that assumption.

  • Given very similar advisory bodies have existed before, do you think the voice would have been successful in improving material conditions for Aboriginal people? For what its worth I voted yes. I was just cynical about the proposed change actually amounting to anything.

  • I implore you to read the article. Racism is a massive issue in Australia but I really think that is not the correct take from this result.

  • Did you read the article? I don't think its the correct conclusion to draw that people voted no because of racism. At the start of the year there was around 70% in favour of the voice on polls. The author makes the point, people haven't suddenly become racist in this time. Certainly a proportion of people voted no because they're racist but its not the whole story. Outer suburban areas in major cities which are poor and very multicultural all voted no quite resoundingly, while inner city liberal areas were the only areas that voted yes.

Australians vote no to Indigenous Voice to Parliament.

In the wake of the delivery of a resounding no to this proposed constitutional change, this article offers a very measured analysis of the problems with the Voice proposal and rejects the simplistic idea that a "no" is simply due to Australians being racist. This article is from before the referendum.

  • The whole situation is the result of Israel's land theft, apartheid, suffocating blockade on Palestinians in the first place.

is there a way to mute instances?

Like I want to mute all posts from lemmy.ml lemmy.world etc. Comments are ok but I can't bear the Western chauvinism. These sites are probably the most propagandised platforms that I ever see on the internet.

  • Are you keen on methamphetamine? 😆

  • Yep that's a long one for sure.

  • Any recommended reading on this Chinese analysis you're referring to?

I haven't followed this story and I have not much idea of the situation. Obviously I'm suspect of US motivations for troop deployment. How should this situation be addressed ideally?

Western media says apparently Ukrainians are dying in this war. Did you guys about know this?

Has anyone noticed a shift in tone on Ukraine war reporting? I wonder if the West is looking to prime people for a way out. All of a sudden we might find it IS a humanitarian crisis after all.

    Vent: Musk's Twitter rebrand

Funnily enough, of all the things that Musk has done with Twitter, this is the one which I realised genuinely bugs me. I hate the X logo and hate seeing the X icon on my phone. I realised I actually genuinely liked the cute little bird. I know it's not worth getting invested in, after all Twitter has always just been a for profit corporation. But for me this just exemplifies the problems with capitalism. Twitter doesn't belong to Musk rightly, it belongs to all of its millions of users who generate content, culture, and media on it and for it every minute. And yet a billionaire megalomaniac can come and shit on it and within less than a year fucking ruin it. There's no democracy in this. I've tried mastodon but I just can't get into it as much as lemmygrad. It seems too boring and just full of tech nerds. Unless someone can recommend a good mastodon instance to join?

    Just saw the Barbie movie

I mean I didn't expect it to be great but seriously. The most sanitised corporate liberal brainworm rubbish. Completely undercooked story. The film is basically just a vessel for monologues about women's empowerment, albeit in a completely shackled liberalist framework where the extent of empowerment is just female president and female CEO - standard lib feminist stuff. This film falls into the bucket of "virtue signal by consumption" media where just by seeing and enjoying the film, and more importantly understanding the wisecrack cultural references and feeling smug about it, the viewer becomes an active political agent. On a technical level, the writing is just bad. Like I said there's nothing but a very shallow plot. The writers just resort to monologues to present the politics of the film rather than allowing the themes to present themselves organically through narrative. The film is stacked with minority "representation", disabled, trans, fat, etc. But this so called representat

Not sure if this is the best community to post. Most BRICS countries massively increasing healthcare spending. Of course increased spending doesn't necessarily equate to better outcomes as the US shows with highest global healthcare spending per capita but worse health outcomes compared to similar economies. China plans to massively improve their universal health coverage so I really hope increases in spending equate to increasing health access. Currently many health services are still privately operated in China and operate on a profit incentive unfortunately, meaning there is still some out of pocket costs for many treatments. I really hope to see full comprehensive and affordable UHC implemented in China.

    Fucking lemmy libs

I don't know how but somehow it feels like lemmy is even more full of arrogant, moronic libs than reddit. Such a bloodthirsty, warmongering pack of Western chauvinists. I can't even stand being anywhere but lemmygrad now. I seriously fucking hate these people.

"Russia, China block move for new Antarctic marine reserves" - anyone know background on this?

As usual no reasoning was provided as to why Russia and China might block such a motion, the implication being that its because they're evil, hate nature and cute animals, and want to destroy the environment. I'm sure there must be sensible reasons why Russia and China don't want these reserves. Are they proposed for areas which China/Russia have interest in in Antarctica which would limit their operations? What do they do down there anyway? Is the Antarctic a useful surveillance/espionage outpost? Are there nuclear weapons in Antarctica? I have no idea, I'd love if anyone can educate me a bit on Antarctic geopolitics.
