This is the question of the moment. We can see how AES are using AI, and possibly take inspiration from that, but we still need to figure out what to use it for. I know you've been an advocate for agitprop, but I'm curious about other revolutionary use cases. How else can we use these tools to advance class consciousness?
Two ideas come to mind. One is to use them to accelerate development of alternative social media. The more we can move people away from corporate social media, the more likely they'll be exposed to new information and perspectives.
Along those lines, AI can also help accelerate the development of open source code in general. This could help undercut corporate dominance, so long as it could be more widely adopted.

MemOS + Petals looks promising. Together they could help us get away from the current corporate approach that doesn't care about energy efficiency or reducing redundancy.

Adding to this, data science + AI might be your best bet. Even as companies might want to go "full AI", they still need people to manage the data that gets fed to AI, not to mention make sense of its outputs.

An hour ago, Iranian air defenses activated in Rasht, northwestern Iran, and successfully downed a number of small drones launched by zionist agents within Iran.

What is the UK going to do? Have a tug boat pull their broken aircraft carrier to the Persian Gulf?

I suspect their plan is the only one they've had for West Asia since at least 2001: bomb it until it becomes a failed state. That Iran is not in the same position as Iraq or Afghanistan, or that the US isn't what it was in 2001, doesn't seem to occur to them.

Yemen to begin naval blockade of port of Haifa
🚨🇾🇪 BREAKING - Yemeni Armed Forces: — In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The Almighty said: “O you who have believed, if you support Allah, He will support you and plant firmly your feet.” This is the truth of Allah, the Almighty.
In response to the "israeli" enemy’s brutal escalation against our brothers and families in Gaza—committing dozens of massacres each day and inflicting hundreds of victims in a genocide the world has never seen before.
And in response to the continuing siege and starvation, and the enemy’s refusal to halt its aggression and lift its blockade,
The Yemeni Armed Forces, relying on Allah and seeking His aid, have decided—by His grace—to carry out the leadership’s directives and begin enforcing a naval blockade on Haifa Port.
**Accordingly, we notify all companies whose vessels are currently in that port or bound for it that, from the moment this statement is issued, Haifa Port has entered our bank of targets, and they must trea

Ansar Allah forces aircraft carrier "Truman" to retreat
🇾🇪 A source in the Yemeni Ministry of Defense to Al-Masirah: — The American aircraft carrier “Truman” and its accompanying vessels will soon leave the Red Sea. We do not rule out that the “Truman” was directly hit in our recent operations, and we expect it to depart the theater of operations at a...
Love to see it. Truman has left the Red Sea, and is hiding all the way up at the top of the Suez canal.

The targeted E-2 aircraft is designed to provide critical intelligence on potential threats faced by the warship during military operations.

The Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) successfully targeted an E-2 command and control aircraft belonging to the US aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, a senior Sanaa government source told Al Mayadeen on Sunday.
According to the source, "The Truman lost command capabilities following the attack, while both the White House and the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) have launched an investigation into the incident."

Kit Klarenberg discusses a recent TIME article, asserting it confirms US plans to abandon Ukraine after using it for a proxy war, and highlighting Western manipulation and looming geopolitical shifts.

On January 19th, TIME magazine published an astonishing article, amply confirming what dissident, anti-war academics, activists, journalists, and researchers have long argued. The US always intended to abandon Ukraine after setting up the country for a proxy war with Russia, and never had any desire or intention to assist Kiev in defeating Moscow in the conflict, let alone achieving its maximalist aims of regaining Crimea and restoring the country’s 1991 borders. To have a major mainstream outlet finally corroborate this indubitable reality is a seismic development.

Ansar Allah hits Ben Gurion Airport, vital Israeli site, ship

YAF spokesperson Yahya Saree says the latest Israeli aggression on Yemen will only strengthen the resolve and determination of the Yemeni people to continue supporting the Palestinian people.

After "israel" hit Sanaa's airport on Thursday, Yemen struck back with a hypersonic that hit Ben Gurion airport in Yafa (tel aviv).

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) announced that Sri Lanka's new government, led by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, has agreed to continue with a controversial IMF bailout plan.

Anyone have more details? Sounds like a rough start for a left government.
The International Monetary Fund revealed Saturday that Sri Lanka's new government has decided to proceed with a contentious IMF bailout proposal that includes strict austerity measures and economic changes.
The IMF reported an agreement with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake's administration to continue with the four-year loan agreed by his predecessor last year. According to IMF team head Peter Breuer, "The authorities have committed to stay within the guardrails of the program."

Dr. Christopher Busby is part a mixed crew of investigative reporters and commentators from Lebanon and some film-makers investigating "Israel's" use of enriched uranium in strikes on Gaza on Lebanon, and aim to follow up on the strange illnesses that are appearing on the battlefield.
"Israel" has, since its attacks on Lebanon in 2006 and those on Gaza in 2008 and 2014, used a new nuclear weapon, one which kills with a high temperature radiation flash and with neutrons. ...
"Israel" and the USA (at least) have developed what is almost certainly a mini-neutron bomb. "Israel" is using it in Gaza. And may be using it in Lebanon (again).
EDIT: some important criticisms of the author have been raised in the comments. It's quite possible he's speculating too much from insufficient evidence. However, he does offer the following, which we shouldn't dismiss either:
- Enriched Uranium was found in Gaza according to this Nature article.
- A crater from an "israeli" bomb in Lebanon was found to be radioactive (original source was an unnamed Lebanese newspaper in 2006, but it was also discussed in [this](https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/commentators/fisk/robert-fisk-mystery-of-israel-s-secret-uranium-bomb-6230

US lining up possible Zelensky replacement
The United States is considering replacing him with a more controllable and less corrupt person who will appeal to the majority of the Western world.
According to Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), the US intends to launch a campaign to undermine Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in order to replace him with a more malleable person. According to the agency, former Interior Minister Arsen Avakov is being considered for the job.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the SVR stated that "the American elite" is becoming increasingly unhappy with Zelensky as politicians on both sides of the aisle begin to "doubt the targeted spending of billions of dollars in military aid to Kiev."
Officials stated that Zelensky is engaging in "crazy steps" that threaten escalation "far beyond Ukraine," adding that Kiev “has moved to feverish action” as Zelensky tries to stay in power after the end of his official term in May.

The success of the anti-government demonstrations in Kenya is inspiring others in the region to take action.

There's no useful analysis here, since the author hasn't bothered to ask any protestors why they're protesting, but here's hoping these are more steps towards a Red Africa.
Countries with active or recent protest movements mentioned in the article include Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Angola, Eswatini, Namibia, Mozambique, and South Africa.

The French president calls on New Caledonians to engage in dialogue and lift the barricades that are blocking roads in the country.

French President Emmanuel Macron publicly asked residents of New Caledonia on Tuesday to lift the barricades that had closed roads for the past month, following widespread and violent unrest.
According to French media, Macron called the situation "unacceptable" after condemning it and called for "the firm and definitive lifting of all blockades."
Local media circulated a letter by Macron calling on New Caledonians to engage in dialogue.
"It always takes longer to build than to destroy," he was cited as saying, stressing the need for constructive efforts toward resolution.

The UNSC adopted a US-drafted ceasefire proposal for Gaza, but what does the proposal include, exactly?

The initial phase calls for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire, the release of captives including women, the elderly, and the wounded, the return of the remains of some deceased hostages, the exchange of Palestinian prisoners, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from populated areas in Gaza.
This phase also includes the safe and efficient distribution of humanitarian aid across Gaza, ensuring that all Palestinian civilians in need receive assistance, including housing units provided by the international community.

The Yemeni Armed Forces launched a composite attack on the aircraft carrier USS Eisenhower in response to US-UK aggression on the country.

Yankee pigs go home!
The Yemeni Armed Forces targeted the flagship of the United States Carrier Strike Group 2, the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, in response to multiple American-British strikes on Yemen.
In a statement, the spokesperson of the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF), Brigadier General Yahya Saree, announced that the YAF's Rocket Force and Navy launched a composite strike on the aircraft carrier.
The strike consisted of multiple anti-ship ballistic missiles and cruise missiles, which dealt direct and precise hits to the USS Eisenhower, Saree explained. The YAF's attack on US Navy assets deployed in the region comes in response to 13 airstrikes that targeted both civilian and military areas across Yemen, leading to 58 casualties.
In detail, Saree said that the strikes in Hodeidah alone killed 16 people and injured another 41, including civilians and military personnel.
Saree reiterated that the YAF will "not hesitate to directly and immediately respond to any r

US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo says if China were to reunify with Taiwan, the US would be devastated due to the ramifications that would hold for the chips market.

In a congressional testimony on Wednesday, US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo emphasized the potentially severe consequences for the United States if China were to decide to reunify with Taiwan.
Raimondo, showcasing that the US is only interested in Taiwan's "security" because of its importance in the microchip sector, highlighted the critical role of Taiwan in microchip supply and production, stressing the decades-long collaboration between Taipei and Washington in this domain.
Speaking before the US House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, and Science, Raimondo underscored the significance of Taiwan's contribution to the microchip industry. She pointed out that the United States currently relies heavily on Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), procuring 92% of its leading-edge chips from the Taiwanese firm.
