As did the main poster. Except they put in the effort to attach a convoluted straw man. Yes they did link a bad dude to one source within a source amongst many other sources mind you, but that's not really conclusive.
I could have gone on a rant about how their source used X links which is connected to a know Nazi (Musk) but that's not really related to the evidence at all.
There are certainly levels of bias and a github FAQ designed solely to prove a point filled with unsubstantiated X links definetly seems pointed
You've done an excellent job of proving 1 person is acting in bad faith.
That doesn't dismiss all the other sources or evidence.
If you dig hard enough you can link a piece of anything to a bad actor. Most media is corporate after all. It's not like I've dismissed the several sources you've posted that quote X just because X is related to Elon Musk, a known Nazi. A source heavily used by that github FAQ btw
I'd argue they are ignoring evidence and resorting to the classic ad hominem
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominem
Also you misread the context entirely the other poster was claiming that every source was anit-semetic and State sponsored. I never claimed anyone here was those things.
But let's just post breaking bad quotes instead
It's kinda neat how everyone that disagrees is conveniently anti-semetic or state sponsored and miraculously everyone that agrees with you is definently not biased or morally dubious in anyway. Very convenient
Ironically Trump is using the strategy to deport people
A git hub faq is definently a 100% unbiased source
Ignore the other source harder, but you've made it abundantly clear that no source will be good enough. We can spend all day poking holes, but all that will accomplish is you continuing to ignore an ongoing crisis so you can continue worshipping a state.
China being bad doesn't make the US good and the opposite is true. Both can be bad for their own reasons
LMAO, okay bud whatever you need to tell yourself to reject the evidence in front of you.
Enjoy your odd loyalty and State worship

Does the BBC work? They present both China's take and several other nations.
And for a non-western view how about Aljazeera.
I'm not into state worship, pretty much every state in the modern world has committed crimes against the people. It's silly to try to place any nation on a pedestal
But at least both countries are successfully attacking their ethnic minorities.
I guess the one building good public infrastructure and investing in science is still the better choice
Eroding democracy isn't an on off switch per se. He's been actively dismantling systems since day one. It is hard to say exactly when all is lost and there's no coming back. That could have been last week or it could be next month. I suppose that will be up to historians.
I think frogs in a pot slowly being heated to a boil is a better analogy. We were pretty fucked as soon as we went in the pot. If there's any sense we can maybe jump out, but eventually we'll die if we don't act
I'd rather die quickly with a small chance of taking out an oppressor than to die slowly in a concentration camp
To resisting
Very cool, enjoy your stay in the gulag. Since that's the alternative
I truly don't think democracy has very long in this country. Either the people rise up or die under oppression.
Our systems have failed
I'm not even Christian, but I'm starting to believe this guy is the anti-christ
Exactly, I definently miss the times when politics could be more easily separated, at least mentally, from the day. But at this point we're in an actual dumpster fire. There's not much else to look at.
Time for a drink....
The fact that this is considered a political meme :(
I once got a death threat here on lemmy for suggesting that democrats were better than Republicans. That was interesting to say the least
It is raining ash
The national forest is doing more controlled burns, but I've never seen it so hazy before in town. It is currently raining ash across the whole city.

Police finally shutdown the illegal gambling hall on Lake Bradford
I saw a combination of TPD and State Troopers clearing out the very obvious gambling hall on the corner of Lake Bradford and Renfroe Valley St. They had a truck and we're loading up the machines. Couldn't find anything on the news about it yet, but I'll keep an eye out. I'm surprised the police let it operate for as long as they did.
Unrelated but I also saw a city bus had rear ended someone in front of the J. Edwin Larson Building on E. Gaines. No one was hurt, kinda funny
Edit: News article for gambling bust
Bluesky pages for tallahassee news?
Does anyone know of any bluesky accounts that feature tallahassee news and communities?
I did a general search, but didn't find much.
Also any other alternative social media options for tallahassee would be cool if you know any.
Welcome
Hi everyone this is just a simple welcome post. The community rules are simple, keep it related to Tallahassee and be nice.
So far there are no plans for the community, but suggestions are welcome. I hope to run this page in an open door and welcoming manner.
