  • It was fun, I liked it a lot. I played the old demo (I think it was the Griffin temple?) and liked it, I also wrote some feedback back then. The graphics and music are very cool and cozy, I like the variety of environments, and the combat is pretty easy but feels nice and cool. I like the bosses (both here and in the old demo) not having a huge variety of movesets, this might be "simple" but well done.

The only comment I have is the platforming (again...), I feel timing the jumps gets a bit weird sometimes and I keep falling in. Might be a skill issue on my part though.

Also, I played on Linux, and it ran flawlessly.

  • I have successfully quit smoking twice. I know it sounds silly to say successfully when it happened twice, but still: I smoked for about 10 years, about half a pack to a pack (rarely more, if drinking heavily). Then I finally decided to seriously quit, cold turkey, and managed to stay off nicotine for over 3 years. At that point I periodically tested smoking again, by asking friends at parties like "hey can I just see if it does anything for me" and could literally not pull a proper drag even, I felt as if I lost the ability to smoke, similarly to how I was before even starting.

Then I had a very stressful situation in my life, bought a pack of cigarettes on a whim, and started smoking again. After about 6 months I decided that it was a super bad idea and stopped again. Now it's been about 5 months clean, again.

Anyway, the first two weeks are the worst. If you get through them, it will get way easier. At this point I can't stand the smell of smokers, i.e. them just standing close to me. Hydrate properly, have a snack, go for a walk (though admittedly walks can suck if you're used to smoking on them).

Also not sure about the blunts slang, but I was able to smoke joints and take bong hits without nicotine addiction piping up.

  • ScIence

  • My favorite prefix will always be exa. Mostly because of a sci-fi book where one character called himself Exa and there were a few subtle puns with that name (like getting obliterated with a 10^18 W laser)

  • I literally have an engineering degree and I find building PCs annoying bc there are so many small annoying steps that are usually glossed over, and I don't do it regularly enough to learn it all - I haven't done it in over 5 years by now and I bet a lot of stuff has changed. It is extremely delicate too, and since processes change every 5-10 years, you never know if the RAM die should already have clicked in or if you beed to push harder or if you're about to break it bc you're actually pushing it the wrong way. GPU power connectors are weird and honestly badly designed, why not actually feed the power from the mobo directly, redesign that standard so you can skip the extra connectors.

There is also always some shitty esoteric step that nobody mentions, like attaching the small speaker the correct way or the front panel hijinks, or back in the day setting the disk jumpers right, but it's still stuff you need to do. Prefabs suck but I understand why people buy them when the self-build community is hostile towards people who don't already know what to do.

And that's beside the issue of the hardware parts themselves. Spending hours researching the best combinations of components, having to learn the latest advances and compatibilities, I just don't feel like it anymore. I liked "tech" shit like this but actually working in tech sapped it all out, I want shit to simply work already lol. Oh, also good luck with compatibility on linux, enjoy spending a few days trying to set up the drivers right.

It's just easier with laptops, and I honestly can do without newer games

  • Give less of a shit of what your peers will think of you, do your own thing as much as you're able. And also read leftist shit, be it Marx or Goldman, that will make you a better person overall.

  • Wasps

  • I've had a yellowjacket nest next to my window for years and they never bothered me. Now I occasionally get these fucking huge hornets flying into my house but they are pretty chill too, they immediately understand they've taken a wrong turn and look for a way out

  • I haven't had any big mishaps myself, but I worked in a wafer fab and apparently the person who came in to replace me after I quit, dropped a whole box of wafers like a month into the job. Shit worth like $1M.

That said, massive fault on the company for a lack of better procedures handling those, and afaik the person didn't even lose the job as it was an honest accident.

  • tag thyself

  • I live in the Doom Mines. I mine doom.

Honestly, it's not good for much and the economy has been trash lately, the mine has been flooding and wheat doesn't grow well here. I don't really see it getting much better any time soon.

  • Yeah I bet an isolationist country targeted by probably the highest levels of atrocity propaganda in the world is spending lots of effort on tiktok videos to get a few disorganised supporters in the west which would materially amount to nothing even if it were true

  • Jesus fucking christ

there is so much to unpack here lmao. I am too tired and relaxed to do it all, but just the first point, implying Mao or Stalin were nationalists in any sense other than some kind of opportunistic building of "nationality" to ignite it into full on proletarian revolution, like, fucking read a single text you lib shits, lol. W*stern "leftists" deserve the same hellfire as libs, they are just smug ideology shoppers
