  • Before things got very cold between us, some studios were keeping an eye on the Russian market as well. That's supposedly why the queer content in The Legend of Korra was so very, very toned down; the show was doing poorly on its home ground, and Nickelodeon wanted to make some of its money back in Russia.

    China is one of the biggest and most powerful overseas markets, although it seems to be in decline right now. But foreign markets definitely have an effect on what we get to see here in the States.
