It's both Valentine's Day and #iLoveFS Day today, so I'll share some of the Free Software applications that I have loved using in the past year:

@EndeavourOS, @archlinux and @debian GNU/Linux;
@kde Plasma Desktop and a lot of their apps, especially the Kate editor and Kontact suite;
@libreoffice (Incredibly useful);
@mozillaofficial Firefox (Linux and Android);
@Mastodon and the @Tusky client (Tusky looks good, works well, and is feature-packed but accessible);

  • @zombiewarrior @kde @[email protected] (Nextcloud uses OnlyOffice or Collabora Office, based on configuration.)

  • @kde @[email protected] Additionally, to all: if you have the means, please contribute to FOSS software you use, financially, or through bugfixing, promotion, or/and development! I do this whenever possible and it's the only way these amazing programs have been produced, and how KDE has existed since 1996!

  • @Bro666 @kde @[email protected] Of course - thanks for the quick response. For better or for worse, I always take everything literally and physically can't seem to do otherwise!

    Long live FOSS and welcoming, creative FOSS-dev communities!

  • @zombiewarrior @kde @[email protected] For Nextcloud there exist the managed public instances endorsed but not owned by Nextcloud GmbH (this page is like joinmastodon.org): https://nextcloud.com/sign-up/

  • @kde @[email protected] I love KDE Plasma and personally it often feels better than Windows user-experience-wise, contrary to what one might expect due to its nonprofit, community-led status. Not to mention the customisability/freedom/privacy benefits...

    However, I do need to point out here that Windows Recall is (currently) opt-in only so this story would be inaccurate unless the ex installed it on the speaker's computer.
