  • Idk. All 2D Mario games seem pretty similar. Of course people are hungry for new levels to play, but there's hardly anything groundbreakingly different from one to the next. And releasing things like Deluxe version of Mario Kart, a game that already seemed particularly derivative of the last entry in the series also feels a bit like milking. Feel like they've been afraid of making changes since double dash.

  • The only time I've been asked about my gender identity at work was before I started HRT. I've been on HRT for a year and people just don't seem to notice. But like, I still have facial hair and I'm at least overweight enough that people can overlook the fact that I have boobs now, so everyone just assumes I'm a guy. Big YMMV thing though.

Worry about work was something that kept me from starting sooner too though. Best of luck getting somewhere safer soon!

  • When I read that article that starts with a copy/paste of the DSM symptom list for dpdr before saying what that list is, I was like "why is this article just a giant list about me?"

Interesting there's a name to describe things I kinda just assumed were partly just an autism thing.

  • Imo, if things fit right, tucking should be comfortable for most activities. Otoh, when things don't fit right, there's enough space for things to escape, which then makes them prone to unpleasant feelings. I have a pair of boyshorts that are supposed to be for tucking, but because they're too loose, they can cause problems and don't actually flatten well.

    1. The same 3 I knew back in kindergarten. But I totally forgot one of them for a long while, which is the one I choose to use when I started kindergarten and resulted in my mom getting a call because I supposedly didn't know how to count.

Not fluent in either of the two non-native languages. My peak was probably 5, but two of which were only for a couple years max and very similar.

  • Same is true for a sphere. For example, if you draw a triangle with 1 vertex at the north pole and the other two on the equator, all the angles are 90 degrees. But if you move, say, the north pole vertex to be closer to the two in the equator, then you'd get a smaller sum.

  • I used a non-ebike until I didn't have a flight of stairs to deal with. If I moved into a place where I needed to use stairs, I'd sell it and find something lighter.

If the ceiling can support it, I guess you could try to see if they'd install something like an electric pulley system that might be able to assist?

  • When I came out to my moms, one of them commented about how I "suddenly had boobs" - it wasn't sudden and I had been wondering for a couple months if they might notice before I got around to saying something (had been on E for 6 months at that point - granted the first 3-month dosage was in the low-side).

People still default gender me as male though - even those who didn't know me until recently and I've reached the 1 year mark.

Whipping girl is a good read, but I wish she'd release a new edition without of the NB-phobic-seeming stuff taking up so much space (not saying she is NB-phobic)

  • While changes are visible within months, it's impressive how people just won't notice even if you aren't exactly hiding it. This is especially true for people who see you often, but I've seen it happen with people I hadn't seen in a long time. Ymmv both on the amount of changes and how much people notice though. I've been impressed by how oblivious most people are.

  • Given there's lots of states still sitting at $7.25, $17 is certainly a step in the right direction. But it should be $25/hr and people should be pushing the idea that $17 is too small, but still better than nothing. $17/hr is already the compromise and treating it like it isn't doesn't benefit it. But its also not helpful to be defeatist about it not being enough.

  • The covid one is really the only one that really stands out as being a unique naturally caused crash, but what makes it most unique isn't the market stuff at all.

This one has been just waiting to happen for a while, but this one being intentionally caused is fairly unique, I guess.

The size of the dotcom + great recession combined is fairly unique, making immediately before the dotcom bust one of the worst times you could have retired in the US since at least the great depression. But that doesn't affect millennials directly and it's the affect of two back to make crashes.
