  • The US has no credibility, from the USS Maine to the Gulf of Tonkin to this

  • Good ol' Murto Phettad

(It's the best anagram I could come up with)

  • With this administration, I just assume that means they're admitting to something like the Iran-Contra scandal

  • This is the same Google who decided that their entire suite of apps should have slightly differently-shaped blue/green/red/yellow icons instead of anything recognizable

  • Thanks for editing in the apology, babe, it means a lot 😘

  • That's a lot of words to call me a failure, buddy, seems like I touched a nerve. You're not wrong, but of all the reasons I'm a failure, using kinder, more inclusive language isn't one of them.

I'm smart enough to know I'm still pretty dumb, but I'm also still smart enough to know that not using potentially offensive language costs me nothing, but makes the world a slightly better place. You do you, though.

  • And that's okay, the context matters a lot. But someone's code will or won't compile regardless of if they call the branch "main" or "master"

In the context of this thread though, it really really seems like you just want to defend saying slurs

  • What would one call a person that is willfully uneducated, ignorant, bigoted, makes bad-faith arguments and acts foolishly

I'd probably point them to this thread and call them "@MrSmith@lemmy.world"

  • You use that many slurs that avoiding making some random person feel bad sharply limits your vocabulary?

  • I'm with you on that. A lot of times lemmy feels like 4chan for self-proclaimed leftists, like look at how popular problematic greentext screenshots are.

But hey, at least this thread lets me know who I should avoid interacting with in the future

  • "We are equal partners sharing responsibility for maintaining our shared living space" is vastly different from "I don't do dishes because that's a woman's job"

  • Correct

    Jump
  • In that case though, it's gender neutral

  • Piggy

  • Veep is one of my favorite shows, and the number of times that entire plotlines became actual headlines during Trump's first reign was ridiculous

  • United States Ambassador Nominee to Malaysia since July 2025

Even if it was satire, he's in too deep now

  • My first thought was about potentially protecting encryption, with all the privacy-invading laws that are popping up here in the US and abroad, but after skimming through the bill it seems like they could still use the "but criminals use encryption" line

  • Acts 4:32-35 makes it pretty clear that one of the most Christlike things early believers were doing was pretty communal, even if they didn't have any Marx to read yet
