This actually looks really solid. I was thinking more about the traditional seashell shape, but from the functionality these are perfect. Thanks!
I'm actually considering buying larger aux headphones, taking them apart, and installing this inside so that the USB port shows on the outside. It is a little more of a project than I want, but then I could just use a USB c extension cable to connect to whatever.
Thanks, I will definitely check this out, koss looks like just the right kind of manufacturer.
Wonderful! Thanks for the list, this is exactly what I'm looking for.
Thanks for the link, that does look good.
I agree, the usb-c connection is th3bmost prone to damage. However, my real problem with the adapter is that there is a stiff part added to the cable in the worst place possible for a pocket. I constantly feel uneasy about the stresses put on the USB poet of the phone by this extra bit of cable with the AUX jack, that's what I want to get rid of.
The adapter you linked partially solves this problem, but it's also longer and bulkier than "just" a USB plug attached to a cable.
I'm being nitpicky about it, but only because it really is a very important detail to me
I have, I refuse to give any data or money to Alphabet, Apple, Meta, etc. as far as I can help it.
But thanks anyway.
Thanks, that retro look is actuality a great idea for a backup, they look very light and uncomplicated.
Thanks for the advice, but I already have usb c in-ear headohones from JBL. A
Thanks for the tip. I hope I can find a cable that has such a module, then finding the headphones themselves should be relatively easy.
I'm fine with rabbit holes, I'm an engineer, that's kinda what we do all day anyway.
I'm in the EU, and thanks, linsoul looks like a good shop to search.
Thanks! This will probably be the best option for me.
Thanks, I'll definitely take a look at them.

USB C Headphones Recommendations
Hi everyone, I need your help with something.
My old JBL headphones are starting to degrade, and so I'm looking for a replacement. As I have a FairPhone now, I don't have an aux jack anymore. I'm also not a huge fan of audio over bluetooth.
So I've started searching for some simple over-ear or on-ear cabled headphones that connect with a USB C cable. I have found one from lenovo, but it is a headset with a boom mic. Ideally I just want headphones, simple and robust. I don't care about noise-cancelling or other bells and whistles.
Anyone have anything?
Note: I know adapters are a thing. I find them annoying and prone to damage. I don't want to use one.
I tried to usw this for my home folder in my daily driver, but it just did not work for me.
I'm now trying out the PARA system, and Iike it better.
I should also add I use obsidian.md for basically everything having to do with files/folders/organization, so I do have all sorts of tags, auto-updated tables, etc. So a simpler file structure suits me better.
Thank you kind soul, that really brightened up my day.
Not the whole government, but some of it 100% yes.
I don't see anything that could be considered a "Youth bad" statement in that comment. It's a complex issue, influenced by a myriad of factors.
For example, I could dissasemle and reassemble my first PC without any prior knowledge. I had to learn to use DOS to navigate the OS and get things done. I got a book from the library about it, and spent hours upon hours just learning about how the file structure, commands, programs, external media, etc. worked before I could do anything remotely useful.
Today a PC/tablet/phone is a black box, you have to actively WANT to tinker in order to learn such about how they work. And most big tech companies try to punish you for so much as trying to replace a battery yourself.
I suspect you are projecting some personal feelings onto a stranger's comment.
Ouch. I feel that comment on many levels.
I have that. It works surprizing well. The bits don't always stay in the tool, but I consider it a good tradeoff for being able to carry 36 bits in such a small package.
So am I.

Flatpak Help Needed
Hi all!
I'm trying to use a local LLM to help me write in an Obsidian.md vault. The local LLM is running through a flatpak called GTP4ALL, which states that it can expose the model through an OpenAI server. The obsidian.md plugin can't reach the LLM on the specified port, so I'm wondering if the flatpak settings need to be changed to allow this.
(This is all on bazzite, so the obsidian program is a flatpak too)
Anyone have an idea where to start?

Backup Question (External HD to pcloud)

I'm setting up a backup if an external hard drive to my pcloud, and I have come across the following issue. I need the help of this awesome community.
I used to run arch on my laptop, and I set up a backup of a usb hard drive to my pcloud storage. This was extremely convenient, because all I had to do was occasionally connect the drive, start the backup service, and that's it. Any changes to the drive would automatically be backed up in the cloud.
Now I've switched to bazzite, and the pcloud doesn't recognize the external drive as the same device anymore because the path has changed. It treats the drive as a part of the "new" laptop.
Does anyone have any idea how I could get around this? I don't mind starting from scratch again, I just want to find a way to avoid this in the future.
Note: I understand that I could just get a raspberry pi or something similar to act as a new dedicated "pcloud backup device" or something like that. I'm looking first for a solution that would work in t

KDE + Gnome on Atomic Fedora
I need some help here from the experts.
Some background below, but here's the question:
Can I run KDE and Gnome on bazzite? How can I install and manage multiple images? I feel silly asking this, but I'm just not finding the correct documentation.
Background:
I have been running KDE desktop Bazzite on my PC for a while now, and I'm loving the robust and easy system (not to mention the ease of gaming). But I have found that one program just doesn't work correctly, and I had a game (Stellaris) freeze my system several times.
I ended up installing EndeavorOS on an older PC to experiment, and found out that the program in question (openAndroidInstaller) requires a Gnome portal to access my hardware. (Long live the Terminal!) Now I suspect that perhaps the game freeze wouldn't happen with Gnome either. So I want to have both on bazzite, but can't figure it out.
