  • Lol you have no fucking clue how many people I've provided relief to from cold hunger and desperation. Or how many lives the harm reduction supplies I've personally distributed have saved. I dare you to walk up to the people in my community talking that shit about the work my comrades and I do.

We're building on a decades long tradition of community self-defense and mutual aid, and you're just out here assuming that - because you can't imagine how a community might be really improved by the actions of a few people - there's no possible way for real people to do real work for their communities.

Be a better person, but also eat my whole ass and GTFO of this community.

  • Libs only know how to be reactionary when it comes to political "resistance". Political tribalism is more important to them than actual conditions. I'm glad to see these people are self identifying so that real radicals know to stear clear of working with them.

  • Call the inverter manufacturer first. As others said, they most likely can help you connect it to the internet and check to see what's working and what isnt. With their help, even if you do need to call an electrician, you'll at least know what the issue is and can make the electrician's job easier, faster, and probably cheaper for you.

  • I knew a guy that showed up to a George Floyd protest with a sign that just said "vote blue". Like, somehow a dem in office would have stopped that murderous cop.

    The liberal mind...

  • Little refillable and rechargeable salt-nic vapes are nearly as cheap as disposables up front and much cheaper over time. You usually can't get them at gas stations like you can with disposables, but the reoccurring cost of replacement pods and juice is much less than constantly buying a new disposable. My partner and I are big fans of our Vaporesso Xross.

I really dont understand how disposables have gotten so commonplace with so many good salt-nic vapes on the market.

  • We're all being fucked by corporate AI anyways, and none of us are in the room to shape decisions. To me, using AI (and especially paying for it from the likes of chatGPT) is capitulating to the oppressors and doesnt actually allow us any greater control over the technology's future. It teaches reliance on a technology that has the express purpose of replacing our need to think and removing us from the fruits of our labor. I don't pretend it doesnt exist because I'm not delusional, but I will argue that it's ultimately harmful to society with my last breath, at least in it's current forms.

Advice for quick and easy pet cam with remote access

My partner and I have a trip planned in about 1.5 weeks, bur cat is unfortunately sickly right now. I'm tasked with setting up a couple of webcams in her favorite spots so we can check on her while we're away.

Currently we have 1 basic webcam, two functioning Linux desktops, a couple old hard drives i don't need, a domain name I have grand plans for but have never used, and enough experience with docker and self hosting to be dangerous.

If you were to set up a quick and dirty pet cam with a minimal budget and about a week to buy everything and get it all set up, how would you go about it? I really want a solution requires as little fiddling and config as possible.

I know I'll need at least one more webcam, and I've been researching NVR software all night only to arrive back at idk-what-I'm-doing after hours of reading. I could potentially stretch my budget up to something like a Qnap TS-216G (which is as close to a good solution as I've found) since I've been wanting to buy a NAS a

"I will be no longer complicit in genocide." - Aaron Bushnell

    AARON BUSHNELL 1999-2024

"I will be no longer complicit in genocide. I am about to engage in an extreme act of protest, but compared to what people have been experiencing in Palestine at the hands of their colonizers, it is not extreme at all. This is what our ruling class has decided will be normal. Free Palestine. Free Palestine. Free Palestine."

I always get emotional when I think of Aaron Bushnell. He reminds me of so many of my radical brothers and sisters unable to live with the injustices so many accept as normal.

PS. I tried out the new alt text feature on Jerboa. Let me know if it has any issues!

Looking for advice - Help me advocate for my employer to open up our products to Home Assistant integration

    First, some background -

I work in technical support for a Chinese manufacturer making (among other things) home monitoring devices. I'm our resident open source enthusiast in the North American market, not that any of my bosses know or care. My background is not in comp sci or networking, so the only applicable knowledge I have is from my meager experience with my own home lab.

We have a product (I'll refer to it here as the Brain) that communicates wirelessly with our other devices, takes the data from them, sends the data encrypted to our servers, and is available to our customers through our web portal or phone app.

We got a support ticket recently from a customer (and software developer) asking technical questions about the communication protocol from the Brain to our servers. This customer was trying to work on Home Assistant integration for our product stack, but was hitting some roadblock that I can't even pretend to understand. To my understanding, the integration would all

Looking for private tracker for AV1 encodes

As the title says, I'm looking for a private tracker with a good sized library of 1080p AV1 encodes. I'm on LST.gg and there's a handful of uploaders and encoders there that have given me the opportunity to upgrade some of my library to AV1, but I keep hearing about how great AV1 is for anime and there isn't really any anime in AV1 there. An anime specific tracker would be great if they have a decent amount of AV1, but I'm also interested in general cartoons and live action TV/movies.

I have access to a MAM's invite forum and have a well established ratio on several trackers, so once I know where to go hopefully I'll be able to get in.

Pirates, Vampires, and Princes all obey the rule

A three way vinn-diagram with pirates, vampires, and Princes in the three main circles. At the intersection of pirates and vampires is "classic go-to villains". Vampires and Princes share "living in castles". Princes and pirates both have "stealing from peasants". The shared trait of all three is "wearing these shirts" with a picture of a fancy white shirt with big ruffles on the neck and sleeves.
