  • In before the Lemmy clowns jump in and call him a Nazi.

  • Link no work >:(

  • Its super easy to exchange if you have another currency. I'm using eXch. No KYC and they have a 0.5% fee.

  • Monero and LTC are pretty cool. I don't care about the scam/meme coins. AI is also super useful if you're using it correctly.

  • There is a version on F Droid that doesn't need GPS. If you're talking about desktop, on linux it doesn't require anything else.

  • Federation is a moderator's nightmare. I don't blame them.

  • If only my hardware could support it..

  • I trust a service with a paid plan much more than a completely free service.

  • Unsurprisingly she's also into lolis... Brings a whole new meaning to the instance title "Little lounge". I just realized she has her entire feed down at the about me page. Seems like she reposted some CP... Weirdo. Actually I think the entire instance is about CP.

  • The creator supporting MAPS is a bit disgusting ngl

  • AI does improve our lives. Saying it doesn't is borderline delusional.

  • Welcome to lemmy. These nutjobs are everywhere.

  • Shut up snowflake

  • Its the only way to make anonymous payments (XMR Monero) in a world where everything tracks and spies on you. And it's not only used to buy illegal stuff https://kycnot.me/ . I think of it like the TOR browser. Its great for people who are trying to escape an authoritarian government, but it can be used for bad things as well. But it should exist as I believe privacy is a human right.

  • Privacy in the UK is dead.

  • A bot account on Lemmy?

  • I mean Sweden asked for a backdoor recently. Maybe they're jealous of the US lol

  • Maybe they got access to a backdoor.

YouTube doesn't let me watch without turning off my VPN?

YouTube won't let me watch this video with my VPN on. Is this a new thing?

    DAITA or Multihop? (Mullvad VPN)

DAITA: Defence Against AI-guided Traffic Analysis. Which one of these would consider to be the best option for privacy? I can't have both on at the same time.

I Tried CalyxOS For 3 Months (So You Don't Have To)

TLDR: He does not recommend CalyxOS and gave it a score of 3/10

How good is /e/ privacy based LineageOS fork?

I'm looking to get a custom ROM that has good compatibility with my device. Would you recommend /e/? I couldn't find a tutorial on how to install it with Linux but I don't think it should be that hard to figure out.

Struggling to find enjoyable reading and listening material

Hi. I'm a big YouTube guy. I spend a ton of time watching YouTube videos. But for the life of me, I can't seem to enjoy Japanese YouTube. I do enjoy watching SOME vtubers occasionally when they play fun games. Other than that I don't really read much unless it's on reddit/lemmy or github. Someone pointed me to a Japanese mastodon instance but it has a pretty intense VPN block.

What do you guys watch/read in Japanese?

How private is the Presearch search engine?

I've been trying to find a good privacy respecting browser, but I can't really decide on what to use. I don't like the search results with Brave Search. DuckDuckGo shares my information with Microsoft and SearchXNG shows me NSFW images even with strict search on. I really like Presearch, but I'm not really sure what they're about.

EDIT: After tinkering with the settings of my SearXNG instance, it seems to have reduced the amount of NSFW images. I think I will stick with SearXNG for now.
