  • Every single time I listen to these meetings as they all jerk off their Dear Leader I can't help but cringe. Like when he has a speech and they need to give a standing ovation every 15 seconds for saying literally anything. It's so forced and fake that you can clearly tell that some those on board are sick of the act. Half of them look dead on the inside when it's not their turn to speak and they are so over the top with addressing him it's obvious they are terrified of stepping out of line.

And if I had a chance to ask them anything I'd ask if the power and privilege they get by selling their soul really worth being so terrified that you can't even speak your own thoughts anymore? Is putting yourself in a state of perpetual self censorship for fear of committing a thought crime and to lose what makes you a human anymore really worth it?

  • And I'm sure they know not everyone that is a republican is a Christian and not every democrat is anti-Christian. Just like not every POC is a democrat and how not every republican is white. This has always been about pushing their ideology onto others in an effort to oppress the people they don't like and has nothing to do with politics. It's like a pyramid scheme where everyone at the top takes advantage of everyone and doesn't even believe what they are preaching. And you know what a lot of people call pyramid schemes? A cult.

  • No words

  • Yeah, that makes sense. My comment definitely makes more sense with the old premise and now I just look like an asshole. I can't really make up any excuses at this point lol.

  • No words

  • I have some words... Why the fuck are you getting a wedding dress on Temu!? If that's how low they are willing to go for your actual wedding dress, I wouldn't recommend going to that wedding. I imagine the food afterwards would just be a couple casseroles made by their aunt that have been sitting in the back seat of her car to "stay warm."

Edit: Misread thinking it was the granddaughters wedding so now my whole comment doesn't make sense. Although, it still seems kinda lame to get a dress for the wedding off Temu. But to be fair, I just hate Temu and everything my mom buys from there and forces upon me when I visit.

  • Jesus fucking Christ. It's starting to feel like "Home of the Weak and Land of the Submissive." As soon as it's time to be brave and defend the weak, they'd rather bend the knee to people that don't care about them and will fuck them over whenever they want. And as soon as it's time to be free and defend others' freedom, they'd rather give up other people's and their own rights just to appease the people that don't care about anyone's rights but their own. I knew it was all propaganda when I was a kid but I didn't think it was so fragile that we couldn't even handle it for 3 months before we just gave up.

  • As much as it's hard to resist laughing at them for believing Trump, these people are in legitimate danger. They're getting no due process and are being sent wherever the fuck Trump wants to send them basically because they aren't white. And if we can't defend these people, regardless of whether or not the leopards ate their face, we will have nobody to defend us when it's our turn. It's not a matter of "if" but "when."

And on the flip side, if you still support this shit show of an administration after everything we have seen, I hold nothing but absolute disdain. I can kinda understand falling for the grift and I can forgive someone if they realize they fucked up, but we are way past the point of plausible deniability if you still think this is at all a good thing.

  • And I think it's just what it is to have ADHD and the like. Knowing you have it is not the same as accepting is a part of yourself and making changes that reflect that acceptance. Like, when I get hyper focused on a new hobby I always try to remind myself that if I don't actually want to commit I shouldn't go all out and spend a bunch of money and put in a bunch of effort for something that I won't want in 2 months. Because that's how you end up with a $400 3D printer that sits in the corner collecting dust. But something I do like is making music. Sure, I don't work on it literally all the time, but I keep it in the back of my mind as something I actually want to do and put effort into.

I'm not saying that dating is like a hyper-fixation or anything like that and I kinda lost the plot halfway through that comment, but the key takeaway I'd say is understanding and accepting yourself. Know what you want and what you are willing to go through to get there and don't expect results before you even make an effort. Dating is a game of trial and error and it's hard for even NTs to find what they are looking for. And basing what you want off of other people's experiences will only make it harder to find out what you want and what you are capable of.

  • I've been in a similar situation before and probably lived my entire twenties in the same mindset. I just turned 30 a few months ago and kinda went through the same existential crisis a couple years ago. I hate to be "that guy" but I think you are putting too many high expectations on it. At this point in my life I don't really try to date anymore because it always puts me in a similar mindset and I don't like it. But ever since I stopped trying to date and forcing myself into the situation of dating I have been much more content with life. I started saving the mental space for other things that I can control and know I can accomplish.

I don't know, I don't know your specific situation in all its aspects and I'm only speaking from a place of my own experiences. I understand how you feel, and I'm sorry I can't help. But if you want someone to talk to lemme know. And if it helps, I'd date the shit outta you. ;)

Not gonna lie, with how messed up everything is right now, it's starting to feel almost pointless to post this. But imma keep doing it as long as it makes at least one person's day. And I'm gonna keep doing it especially because of how messed up things are.

I hope you all have an amazing weekend. And if you work weekends as I have in the past, I hope it's as stress free as possible.

For those of us that can spot the URL for "Never Gonna Give You Up" at a glance, we are getting rickrolled without ever clicking the link.

Did you know the world was protesting against Trump on inauguration day? Or was this news hidden from you?

This is honestly the first time I've seen pretty much anything about it.
