That's all true for game dev but not the rest of tech. If you know that something is wrong you flee before it actually goes bad. Also you can interview for new jobs before you leave the previous one so you don't have an insurance issue.
Tech workers aren't above working class concerns. But I'm sick of having to fight the rest of the working class to make any change. I'll help, but I'm not going to put in a ton of effort for something to help others when those others are hell bent on not receiving that help.
Thats the beauty of being in a high demand line of work? I struggle to see how being a swe could leave you with no voice. You have mobility and are highly paid. If your company isn't doing well go find a new job?
I totally understand why people want unions for lower demand work. But I don't understand it for sw.
That's an ... Interesting methodology and take.
What benefit would a union get me? A lot of the benefits I've seen from unions I already have. I don't want seniority based pay. Its already really hard to get rid of coworkers that underperform to the point of impacting others job performance.
A huge part of that riot was the Irish who were fresh off the boat from the potato famine and we're not pleased that they had escaped one hell and we're going to be drafted to a war they didn't care about.
Isn't his comp mostly in stock? So if they cut his salary it wouldn't really affect the profit margin so much as the valuation of his salary
Oh neat. What parts are you studying? I was always told that you never really get quantum mechanics the first time and that you need to see it 3 times. But I wouldnt know bc the second course I took was already too much.
But bra-ket notation was super cool.
Renting an apartment is cheaper than buying a house. If there are no small houses but there are cheap apartments you end up with this problem. Sf bay area housing is a time.
That doesn't seem right if the taxes on a house in the area you where you work are higher than rent.
Average credit card balances jump 10% to a record $6,360, and more consumers fall behind on payments
There's a CC that does that. It's called bilt. I have one and it's pretty nice but I'm not affiliated. It's unfortunately set up through one of the shitty banks but I haven't had any problems with it and I get a nice extra rewards points on rent and Lyft that I wasn't getting before.
Same. I wrote a ton of pages about his work as governor and lost points bc it didn't cover his achievements as president. I asked the teacher if she could name one, and she told me that was my job. She was forced to retire after that year.
These have a high probability of working but it isn't perfect. And not all of them tell you which way the bit was flipped.
Yup. There is technology to deal with this. But does every piece of hw have that tech? No. Does every piece of sw run eccs for this purpose? No.
It's a pain. I love replaceable batteries too. It took me hours to change mine on my pixel. But why is it hard to get out: phones are slimmer and processor more. So you need to get the battery wedged in there and properly thermally insulated. It's a lot harder to do that while also making it easily field replaceable
There is an electribuzz enemy. Haven't found a way to catch it though bc it's controlled by an enemy boss. But there is a monkey with a machine gun who is pretty helpful for DPS racing the bosses.
Some parts are slightly unbaked. Like parts of the map that are missing fast travel points. But the gameplay loop is sane. And it has way more pals than I would be expected. Like dozens and it's worth getting them.
And it's surprisingly good
Yeah if vs iff can be confusing at first. Trying to understand it with normal grammar doesn't work right. It's a lot more helpful to grok the symbols and so the truth tables by hand to see how they fit together
Since someone is going to be elected pretty much no matter what, "practice shooting if a tone is elected" is logically equivalent to "practice shooting".
Banning proponents of 2A is a bit weird for a politics sub but I like it. Gun nuts are crazy.
Fortunately the rules allow for celebrating violence and advocating for nonviolent deaths. If you're going to be pedantic about the exact meaning of your rules to stifle opposition, write better rules.
