  • How many ISP choices do you have?

I’m outside of Milwaukee. Was paying Spectrum $75 for 300/20 (I think), no cap. Only other option is DSL. They finally buried fiber in the back yard earlier this summer, but haven’t turned it on yet. Got a great deal for T-mobile home internet, $25 for about 300/75, no cap.

Linking Smart bulbs with a hard switch

I recently added a Hue bridge with 2 bulbs that are in lamps. I did set them up in HomeKit to act as 1 accessory. Obviously the lamps need to be "on" in order to work through the Home app/Siri. But I am wondering if there's a way through Automations to turn on both bulbs through a real dumb switch? Obviously one bulb would need power on and just be off in software.

  • I don’t think that’s my issue. I’ve used the setting “connect when last connected to” to avoid those inadvertent automatic switches. And while I have used it with my ipad or Mac, not so much this summer. I would get them working after a phone reboot, and maybe a half day to day later they would stop connecting until phone reboot. Today I reset the airpods, hopefully the connection sticks.

EDIT: I think I’m having a deeper problem with bluetooth on my iPhone. This page week I’ve also had to reset the connections on both cars. The only change I’ve made was starting to connect to my PC. Weird.

    Why can't I post?

I've been trying to make a link post to nfl@lemmy.world for two days. I click create and get the infinite spinner. Is it my instance? Is it the community? I know my instance had performance issues, though those have seemed to have been mostly resolved today.
