  • I'm trying to figure out how they'd even use this for age verification, seeing the wild swing of ages versus appearance that I alone have experienced.

Sounds sus as fk. Will be opting out of this one and if they push it, there's a few nice competitors licking their chops in the wings.

  • Honestly I used Pandora since it was Beta and I still think it's algorithm is one of the best I've seen. Even if you don't pay for their service, just get a free account and explore. Then if you want to use some other program to build a playlist, at least you've got something working for you.

  • This. Also be sure to go to the compatibility section and select 'Enable Steam Play for all other titles.' Otherwise you're borked.

Just for completeness, I like Bazzite for gaming over Linux Mint, but Linux Mint should still work fine.

  • Depends on how fringe you go. There's a remarkable amount of stuff that can be installed from the Program Manager. The ones that aren't will take some tweaking but.. I remember a time when I was trying to do this very thing in Windows 95. If you want it bad enough, you'll figure it out.

I'm trying to channel my younger GenX, and if it's a bit of a struggle for younger generations then I encourage them to embrace it. It's an unfortunate truth that not everything works like it works on an IPhone, and I can't overstate how important it is to learn some of the basics of the OS and troubleshooting for everyone's future.

  • This is the answer right here. The justice department should enforce the judicial branch. Only the legislative branch should be able to override, with codification.

When the legislative branch is frozen due to corruption, the judicial branch can then rely on precedent.

  • I've been a Repub since forever, abstained until I realized I was being an asshat and finally voted Harris for the same reasons. Hell, at the end of the day, do I vote for an economics major/ Attorney who supports the judiciary or a literal Nero who wants to make bank while the world burns?

Can we just go back to politically arguing about a balanced budget? Why does that now seem like an insane position?? I'd like to get off this ride now, plz.

Amber Alerts now showing up on phone as Public Safety Messages

Done it twice now, both after the date of this article. What gives? I don't want to turn off Public safety messages, but Amber alerts are notorious for waking me up in the middle of the night for a child kidnapped 300 miles away.

What is going on with the media?

This article seems to have a lot of facts mixed up and they appear to be unaware of things that to my mind are publicly available. What's going on with the spin?

The article states they have no idea what the shooter's motivations are, but there was a screenshot of Crook's X account that pretty clearly laid them out. https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2F3503dwt80gcd1.jpeg

The article goes on to state that he bought ammunition at Walmart, while other articles state he used an AR, and that Biden wants to ban them again in the wake of the shooting. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2024/07/17/biden-ban-ar-15-trump-assassination/74416454007/

Walmart does not sell .223/.556 ammo.

It's been 6 days since the shooting. What the hell is going on with investigative journalis
