  • I think somehow people still haven't figured out the two important things the Meta Quest so popular despite its many, many inherent drawbacks.

Why is the Quest relevant here? This is obviously not competing with the Quest, and the reality is a company like Shiftall can't compete with Meta in terms of price because they don't have billions to burn like Meta. Making a Quest clone seems like a major waste of time.

  • Especially interesting because they're also having a tournament with a bunch of the old pros.

  • “(I) thought Trump would save the day but in fact our tariffs on our parts went up from 25% to 55% and more,” he said in an email. “KILLED us as well as financing charges and other factors — but competitors are skirting tariffs through other countries — under invoicing and selling direct and often below costs without legitimate certifications, safety standards, etc.”

lol. It's unfortunate the US government doesn't take ebikes and micromobility in general seriously though. I wonder if bikes will ever break the perception of being toys in most people's minds.

  • Yeah, pretty much. Season 1 was generational in terms of production, and season 2 was realistically never gonna be at that level. Season 2 is also the start of a new arc whereas season 1 felt closer to an episodic series.

  • I don't understand why people act like everyone on ebikes exerts zero effort riding. You can change the level of the assist!

  • I await season 3 with bated breath... I don't believe season 2 was an absolute dumpster fire like other people seem to believe but the lack of promo material is a little concerning. OPM is awesome man, why it take so long for season 3 to come out 🥺

  • Neat concept. Kind of unrelated, but do any of these cargo ebikes support having any number of adult passengers? It seems like once your kids get past a certain age you either can't take the bike anymore or you have to get them their own.

  • Why do you think you have to jump through hoops? These are the steps to do it if your distro has it packaged:

    Option A: Use Distro-Native Packages #

These packages come with lighthouse support enabled (Flatpak & Envision does NOT)

Arch: Install wivrn-dashboard wivrn-server from AUR
        Fedora: Install wivrn-dashboard via DNF
        Gentoo: Emerge wivrn from Guru

Open the WiVRn dashboard and under advanced settings, tick Enable SteamVR tracked devices support, then stop/start the server.

Warning: distro-native packages are known to have issues with Flatpak Steam.

Also, I've seen a lot of people report significant problems with Steam Link VR on Linux.

  • Yeah, the issue is I feel like there's a significant population that bought VR for Alyx, lol. I can concede there aren't a lot of AAA VR options, but it's just frustrating to see great indie VR games not be recognized.

  • Europe will soon have the opportunity to be blessed with local blackouts, how exciting.

On a serious note, kind of interesting basketball is getting big enough to launch another league. Makes sense with all the new international stars I guess.

  • Ah, the articulated lizard prototype, very innovative.

  • I wonder, how strong is the ebike market? I feel like I see more of them now than ever before, but maybe that's just because I have one.

  • Nice, I'll have to check it out and pick up something new, been looking for some new VR stuff to get into. I feel like it's much harder to find new VR games than flat games. Feels like the Steam interface could be improved in this respect. Also probably doesn't help that all the online discourse around VR is that there's nothing worth playing except Alyx.
