The people must learn, one and all, how to use arms, they must belong, one and all, to the militia which is to replace the police and the standing army.

Happy International Workers' Day!

Before I got to sleep and have to work tomorrow

, I want to wish all comrades a happy International Workers' Day. You deserve the fruits of your labor, you deserve respect, and you definitely deserve more than the capitalist pigs will ever give you. Workers of the world, unite!

  • Gotta be the Saudis

    Ireland is cursed tho wtf

  • Does someone have the cliff notes?

  • I think getting into firearms can be a lot cheaper than people sometimes think. I know not every has $300 bucks laying around but if I had to recommend something that can be both a hobby and incredibly useful I would say firearms too

  • Yeah lmao same I was cracking up when I saw that irl

I wish I was as funny as some of our comrades

  • Another liberal brainworm removed by hexbear

  • You’re right, I don’t know the history. It was an off-the-cuff comment.

  • I didn't mean to contradict what you initially said. By "benefit of the doubt" I mean I give more leniency to nationalists when their people and culture have been genocided by an imperial power. Colonized people as a whole, in my opinion, can be cornered into a nationalist stance. I do not mean to defend any right-wing or reactionary views.

  • CW for ableist terms please

    Edit: Thank you

  • I feel like nationalism in the context of colonial occupation deserves the benefit of the doubt, but I know you’re from there and know way more about him than me.

  • The only Michael I respect is Michael Collins

  • If you're looking for someone who plays extremely well/efficient and edits their content so its easier to watch than just watching someone play a spreadsheet simulator, I'd go with PerunGamingAU. I think he's considered one of the technically best Youtubers that make content by the community and he cuts out the long boring parts.

  • It is incredibly tedious, micromanagey, many confusing and/or obscure mechanics. I wouldn't say its long for the sake of being long, but in the later game the micromanagement required gets a little ridiculous in my experience.

Still scratches a hard sci-fi itch that I haven't found from a game in a long time.

  • I’m glad those cross body bags became cool, it’s almost like I get to carry a purse

  • And struggle for 5 minutes to ever get something out of it

    Andor S02E01 spoilers

I thought they did an excellent job, given the rather limited screen time, of reenacting both The Wannsee Conference (1984) and it's not quite as good English counterpart Conspiracy (2001).

If you haven't seen either, they are a rough reenactment of the meeting minutes from the Wannsee Conference

The characters' hesitancies, the finger food, the side conversations, it really felt like an homage.

  • I have not, guessing it’s pretty good given it kinda spawned a genre.

I’ve seen both A Visitor to a Museum and Dead Man’s Letters but not Stalker itself. I’d guess both those movies were pretty heavily inspired by it.

  • I think the gunsmithing, crafting, base building, scarcity, and survival elements are what sets GAMMA apart. The Zone feels a lot more alive and punishing.

I love the setting and atmosphere too, I just think GAMMA does it so much better.

  • GAMMA was my first Stalker game. I've spent probably a hundred hours in it and would still only consider myself a beginner. Stalker 2 was such a let down coming out of GAMMA, I un-installed 2 after maybe 10 hours and immediately reinstalled GAMMA.

  • Terra Invicta

By the same people who did the Long War XCOM overhaul mod. Anybody into 4x sci-fi solar system simulation/management should check it out. Still in EA but has come a long way from release.

MMW, Trump will use his long term economic plans as an excuse to push for a 3rd term, in a “trust the process/plan” sort of way

I’m sure they’ll come up with other reasons, but the kind of fundamental economic change he is trying to bring about takes a lot longer than 4 years. I think this will be one of their major selling points for Trump 2028.

If he lives that long, that is.

    High quality electronic hearing protection

I'm looking into getting my first set of active/electronic hearing protection. I know that Peltor Comtacs are essentially top of the line, but they're a little outside my price range.

I still wanted to get something high quality that will last basically forever, and think I settled on Sordin's Supreme Pro-X. Anybody have experience with these or think I can find something just as high quality but a little cheaper? The Sordins run like $320.

    I got defensive and reactionary

The comment that broke me out of my reactionary idiocy:

After taking the time to calm down from a PTSD flashback. I will try to explain this calmly.

The argument is that the legal and professional structures around healthcare are in direct service to capitalism. You said yourself, you have to violate the law to provide healthcare. That's proving the point every one of use in that thread is making.

Why I'm angry with you, personally, your actual person: You didn't talk to us, you disengaged from the only person you made any motion to listen to in the thread and then came here to subtweet to people who aren't of the marginalized communities in question. This is bad form, at best.

My argument about the medical establishment:

I was strapped to a table. I was tortured. It was Legal. A teacher put me there and a doctor did it.

I was a queer child and that was my crime.

For the love of god. Listen to us, don't just get offended we don't respect your profession because you, perso

If you haven't seen the latest episode of Severance, I implore you to watch it

Amazing episode and superb acting from John Turturro. I audibly gasped a couple times, easily the best new TV I have seen in a while.
