Ich möchte hier jetzt auch kein allgemeines Spahn bashing lesen. Werdet bitte spezifisch 😂
Edit: werdet es nicht, wir sind ja alle nett hier, aber den Satz musste ich machen.

I‘m sure one of Musk’s underage geniuses will take over as a oneman-army 😂

I know german schools forked fluffychat for their students. Also German Army opted for Matrix/element. Still, all on an organizational level.

I really struggle with so boild down posts as Signal, Threema and Matrix are the three that get mentioned a lot lately, but they aren't equally easy to use, nor is their feature set equal.
For example: in terms of data privacy I would rate them Matrix, Threema, Signal. In terms of usability and ease of use Signal, Threema, Matrix. Also Matrix works more like a business chat replacement (e.g. for slack, teams, ...).
Using all three actively, I often get the feeling that recommendations are not based on the needs of the people the recommendation is made for. 99.99% of the users just want to have a messaging App without instances and login procedure. And I'm quite sure a vast part of those using Lemmy are already in the remainder that know about Matrix 😅
Anyhow, for everybody else there are nerdy overviews like https://www.messenger-matrix.de/messenger-matrix-en.html

Kay. Running grapheneOS for that matter. Thought fairphone come cleansed, too… the more you know.

De-googled, isn’t it?

I’m curious where this project is heading after the political decision of terminating one heads/CEO contract after only 6 month.

November 2025 is still quite a stretch and I’m sure as any good European project this will be postponed 😬

European Credit Card and digital euro is coming, end 2025

Bye bye Visa, Mastercard, Paypal, and many others. They can go and play "America First". We'll have our own independent system by november 2025.

Witzig. Ich empfehle einen anderen Umgang mit Spahn.

Actually I would exempt a lot of frameworks of criticism. They’re in vast parts open-source and somewhat not commercial. In my opinion if they don’t add to tracking they’re good to use.
It would be another cup of tea if they rely on (meta) AI-services like all the buyFromEU-Apps do. They are unironically using gemini and GPT for processing.

Loving all about it 😂 Good catch.

German government is forth and back with the decision since the early 2000.
I hope they pull through just like France is doing (referring to the video someone posted here)

Actually the people I know still got VPS for gaming. But they use solutions that are tailored to gaming rather than generic "do it yourself" VPS. Simple Web-UIs for predefined games make it super easy for newbies to start something.

Oh.. a fellow knifeaholic. (Peltonen, Morakniv, Victorinox, Böker, :)

Sorry dude, but I envy you 😂. Let's swap places.

We had this post a couple of days ago and people were discussing the technical specs of the cable: https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/post/24120349
Seems like it actually is not too good and it may be better to choose one of those recommended here: https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/post/22937894

Thanks to you and your cool boss. Do you also have a not so cool boss, too?

Maybe Victorniox Wenger → a small pocket knife series?

Ehm, there ain't any knives on Wenger's website.

European (outdoor) knives
Coming from the post about Ukrainian knives I would like to have a post similar to the Jeans post the other day.
Outdoor knives are more of a niche topic, but it plays well with some of my outdoor hobbies and knowing your options is also fun, so please keep em coming.

European Jeans
Coming from reddit, just realizing how many European brands we got. I would almost say the market is saturated quite hard, but there is plenty of choice in style and cut.
I need to skim the original post and search for already given lists for further entries, also I need to add countries in a later edit. Be aware, country of origin does not mean country of production.

Majority of Germans endorsed labelling of European products

(DE) Isar Aerospace Test-flight today
Hier finden Sie Informationen zu dem Thema „Raumfahrt“. Lesen Sie jetzt „Countdown zum Testflug für deutsche Rakete abgebrochen“.
Frist test flight, which is expected to explode anyways.
But let's hope, that we are heading towards a good European satellite delivery method.
Also, there are several other European companies building rockets. Might want to take a look at them, too.
Edit
The countdown has begun for the test flight of the Spectrum rocket from Bavarian start-up Isar Aerospace. If nothing else intervenes, it should take off within a time window of 12.30 to 15.30, according to the company. However, this is not yet certain, as the countdown before a rocket launch is often stopped or even aborted - possible reasons include safety concerns or the weather.
According to Isar Aerospace, the aim of the test flight is to gather as much data and as much experience as possible. The possibility of the rocket reaching orbit is largely ruled out. In the past, no company has ever managed to get its first rocket into orbit, a spokeswoman emphasized in advance. “The rocket may explode, that is even likely duri

Well, quite ambitioned for a one-man-show, also the chosen linux distro as base can be disputed.
The mark to be appealing to "typical public sector organisation[s]" is quite high, but in regards to the team (one man?) I'm remembered of elmenteryOS and how the two founders managed before splitting ways. They pulled it off for a while.

Bookwyrm.social, BookBrainz, OpenLibrary, etc.

geteilt von: https://feddit.nl/post/30601987
Just here to shed some light on Bookwyrm.social, the Fediverse equivalent of Goodreads. I've been doing some more reading lately, and I like to keep track of what I read and also I like reading other's review, suggestions, etc. Now I boycot amazon and others big tech as much as possible, so for me Bookwyrm.social is the place to be. It's steadily growing I think, but I thought it deserved some more attention, therefor this post. Same goes for BookBrainz and to a lesser extend IA's Openlibrary. OpenLibrary is, among other things, a place where people catalogue book-metadata, and if a book is not on Bookwyrm.social yet, it can often be imported from OpenLibrary. Problem with OpenLibrary is that the data is often messy and there are a lot of duplicates. That's where BookBrainz comes in, the book-equivalent of MusicBrainz. They're not t
