CAD is a huge pain point for me as well. I used all sorts of packages from PTC when it was still called Pro/E to the Autodesk 3D solutions with a stint of NX in between. Nothing that works on Linux that isn’t o shape is usable for me. I genuinely tried working with freecad but it doesn’t fit me.
It won’t be a big bang, but a gradual change. It has already started.
Religious symbols of any shouldn’t have a place in public office. States are secular and include people from all background and religious beliefs. Everyone should have the right to display the symbols of their faith in private. There was this quote once that likened religion to a penis - it’s ok to have one and to be proud of it but don’t shove it down other people’s throats.
Maybe a wave hit it.
Is this the first step towards becoming flaming dragon?
Amen! I remember the good old days of speciality community forums based on VB or even phpBB or in some cases Woltlab. I miss the simpler times.
I agree. What also bugs me is the constant need of an internet connection for things that don’t need it. I installed valetudo on our robot vacuum for this exact reason. Things are not going to get better though i assume…
Blink blink. Bigly winning the art of the deal!

I find the switch to hosting communities on proprietary closed platforms kind of bad in terms of access to the vast knowledge and archiving it for future generations. When discord will go full enshittified, it will just charge a subscription fee to access the “servers”. Also they will sure as hell comply with anything if it threatens the bottom line.
It is so stupid to have to use an App for the Most simple things on anything. I miss the old days of Habicht physical switches for almost everything.
This is democracy manifest!

Matplotlib and seaborn are my Go-to
Uh oh, Mr Strulovitch’s Seat will be in jeopardy if true :))
Thus I am for forbidden to employ it merely because ‘tis of rare and precious nature? Surely thou jest!
He knows science, he knows all the science. The most beautiful, wonderful science you have ever seen. Some say he is the best at science. Bigly.
In my immediate vicinity I can see a trend to insource critical infrastructure again. Not necessarily to their own servers but towards certified European data centers. Sometimes they manage to cut costs at the same time as the pricing structure for the big three is so in-transparent that they wasted a lot on unneeded resources.
