I have the Overkill Solar JDB BMS and it's awesome. I've been using it every day for the 4S pack I built for my van. The Overkill Solar app is really nice and I believe it works with any JDB BMS even if you didn't buy it from them.

I added 10 Amp fuses in my solar runs for additional safety. You can just buy MC4 fuses that connect between the male and female MC4 connection. They're probably not necessary but I'd rather the fuses fail if something goes wrong instead of destroying my charge controller or burning my van to the ground.
My favorite is the AE-1200 "Casio Royale" that only cost $23. There are quite a few mods you can do to it to make it unique and it's just a cool looking watch. I used rubbing alcohol to get rid of some of the lettering on mine and I'm also planning to buy a metal case with sapphire glass to make it feel a bit more premium.
This is my thought process as well. I love it here on Lemmy but it's probably a million times easier for an AI company to pull data from the Lemmy API where they don't have to deal with Reddit who claims to own the data hosted there.
