  • Agreed, $3.6mil doesn't seem like that much to fix infrastructure problems (see cost of updating the US power grid estimates), but you know who also doesn't think $3.6mil isn't that much? Billionaires. Such a small denomination of money to people like that.

    Pony up, goddamnit!

  • I had a similar thought to this the other day. For nearly my entire adulthood working, something around 15 years, not a single day has passed where I have explicitly recall NOT having coffee.

    Addiction is real. 😬

  • I didn't realize HDDs are taking a hit now... I'm moving overseas and opted to move my sever with me instead of rebuilding since ram alone is close to 1k now. I didn't price HDDs at the time cause they are only 4 years old... Sure hope they hold on for another few years....

  • Ohhh there is a lot of the over tones throughout the show. Bashing on the younger generations not knowing how the world "works", O&G being required (in this current form) and must grow more, progressiveness is the devil, etc. etc.

It's Taylor's thing. He did the same but slightly muted notion with Yellowstone until the last few seasons when he went all in on the notion.

  • I was told on Landman that wind power isn't reliable, doesn't last long enough, and requires oil to even work! Are you telling me a Taylor Sheridan show is US right wing propaganda?!

  • I'm in the same boat as you. Used Textra and Mighty Text years back but want to try swapping back. Doesn't seem like anything can compete with the robust features Messages has right now, unfortunately....

  • My bow.

    My axe!

  • In the words of Gary Stevenson, "sorry, try again next time"

He meant this jokingly agreeing that you are basically fucked if you were not born into wealth or bought into a market 30+ years ago. Follow his channel on YouTube for some amazing, progressive views on the economy.

  • I'd have to go back and find it since I watched it like two days ago but Zack was interviewed by I want to say "The Rest is Politics" where the host asked if he (Zack) is concerned a vote for Greens is a vote for Reform (implying the split vote). Zack response was exactly what has happened where a vote for Labour has become a vote for Reform.

  • The video that was provide in the article showed individuals running red lights. That was the basis of my comment.

  • I'll start with I do not ride a bike, and I did not know this. Thinking locally with how US lights work, this makes sense as you are not heavy enough to trigger most lights' weight sensors.

Sounds like road planning needs to address this failure.

  • I mean come on. Who thinks it is "right" or even legal to roll through a red light on any type of vehicle...? That's a shame on the riders, no?

(Not to say they should be hit in the first place and there can always be more of a reduction in cars on the street, etc. etc.)

  • I've found setting an unrealistic goal (retirement at 45) but realistic goals that lead up to the unrealistic one so that accomplishments are made. Humans get a dopamine hit when we "check a box" or complete a task. Lean into that a bit with things you do. Small things help towards the efforts of larger things.

Other than that, escapism through keeping myself busy too.

  • Needs more "YOLO420BLAZEIT" energy

  • This is something else that crossed my mind. Not like the $20 a year or whatever is going to break my bank paying separately....

  • Does the Norwegian monarchy also generate a significant amount of revenue for the government like the British one does?

  • Next up, they will send some smoke signals against the wind...

  • No Stupid Questions @lemmy.world

Instead of everyone leaving NATO, could everyone else just kick the US out?
