The U.S. Library of Congress (LoC) has inducted the Windows 95 sound into its National Recording Registry (NRR). For those unfamiliar, the NRR is essentially a list of sound recordings that "are culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant, and inform or reflect life in the United States."
Alongside the Windows 95 theme, Minecraft's Volume Alpha has also been chosen, alongside 23 other mainstream songs.

No nyt on kyllä varsinainen yllätysuutinen. Pelit-lehden juttuja olen saattanut joskus pari kertaa vuodessa vilkaista, mutta aktiivinen lukeminen oli varmaan joskus viime vuosikymmenen puolella. Pelaajan juttuja netissä tuli ainakin siihen asti luettua, kun sivustolla oli RSS-syöte. Olen käsittänyt molempien lehtien levikin tippuneen ja sisällön suhteen kilpailun muuttuneen hankalaksi kun on striimaajia, tubettajia ja ulkomaisia pelimedioita. Tähän vielä taloudellisesti hankalat ajat niin päätös alkaa tuntua ymmärrettävältä.
Pelimediassa pitkään kirjoittanut Jukka O. Kauppinen on myös kirjoittanut pitkän kirjoituksen, jossa hän muistelee Pelaaja-lehteä. Tämä tosiaankin on erään aikakauden loppu.

Then around 2020 he was slowly incorporating things like The Great Reset, rallying against vaccine mandates and other right-wing talking points. He started to appear with Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro and the like. The rebranding reached a culmination in April 2024, when he was baptised.

Damn, I was about to post that article! But regardless, there is so much proof regarding Brand's misdeeds which may contributed to his "rebranding" from a liberal revolutionary hippie to a conservative Christian.
To think of it, "Cyanide Ice Cream and Cum Soup" would fit really well right next to "Needle Up My Cock" and "Expose Yourself to Kids".

Exactly. It's ridiculous how UE5 has tools like Nanite that should free developers from previously time-consuming chores such as creating LOD meshes and provide great performance at the same time. Instead it leads to performance problems and the developers may not optimize their games properly. The resulting game needs to render at a lower base resolution like fucking 720p and upscale from that using AI, add some bad anti-aliasing and the overall image quality is blurry. This has to be done, as otherwise the game's performance will barely reach stable 30 FPS, even on new GPUs with all the bells and whistles. Oh, and if the game can't reach 60 FPS? No worry, there's AI frame generation! We were supposed to live in times of realistic graphics with great performance, but all we get is tools to circumvent bad performance and image quality resulting from bad optimization.

There are no recommendation algorithms for content, you are one! Search for communities based on your interests and subscribe to them. The Communities view of your home instance and Lemmy Explorer are good for that. Because Lemmy is decentralized, all discussion isn't centered around one site like on Reddit, which may at first give an impression of emptiness.
