    I am 100% assuming that last night's capitulation was engineered by Schumer with a handful of people designated who can afford to take the fall for it. If Schumer ever bothers to explain his feelings about ending the shutdown, I guarantee he will make some general noises but definitely he will not say anything that sounds like he thinks ending the shutdown without ACA funding was a bad thing.

    Incorrect. No one gets access to the rest of your company's source code. It's just that, since they gave you a ton of wonderful stuff for free, you have to do likewise if you're going to build on their stuff. If you don't want that, then go find some other swimming pool so to speak (which it sounds like you've done).

    It boggles my mind how people think this is unintended. "My company tried to build on GPL3 software, but IDK if the authors realized this, but we're not allowed to do that unless we share our contributions back in turn! What an error! As soon as they find out, they'll surely change the licensing to one that is more amenable to what we want to do in terms of reselling their source code to people without complying on our end with the GPL!"

    I can pretty much guarantee you, this will not be a surprise to the people who licensed their code GPL. We have been having this conversation for decades. Your input as to whether it's "beneficial" to them to restrict you from doing what they don't want you to do is noted.

    Can you point me to those comments? I've looked at his comment history yes. Maybe I missed these parts. It's pretty large so obviously everyone's going to pick their favorite part to present, but what I saw was him calling himself a communist, yelling at people who were excusing war crimes and talking about some of the fucked up stuff he saw in the military and how it radicalized him.

  • Because pretty much everything he's advocating for is the exact opposite of fascism, and because we saw his Reddit comment history which he wasn't expecting to have exposed and there's no fascism in it and there is some anti-fascism. Some bad-faith mischaracterizations aside, there is literally no reason at all to think he's a fascist in any way, and a few different reasons to think he is the opposite of that.
