So your relatives are partially right, but they've been propagandized against anything that could give them the full answer (like that supply chain issue was a crisis of capitalism and capitalism can't handle real crises, rather it often causes them) so unless they can overcome that partial truths are probably the best you're gonna get from them. I just interact with people like that as little as I can for my own sanity.
