I wonder if this is a Lepista nuda.
I'm quite confident that this is a Yellow bridal veil stinkhorn, or Phallus multicolour (great scientific name imo).
I originally thought Aprica straight away when I saw it and commented so above - but then kind of talked myself out of it on second inspection, because I couldn't see any remnants of their distinctive universal veil on the cap.
I find it so fascinating that muscarias have such colour variations over there, where I am in Europe they are all deep, deep red. Only once have I seen a dark orange one. The light shades are lovely specimens.
Edit: actually, I take back my first statement. I think the white ring consistently around the rim is indeed what's left of a singular veil, and that points to Amanita aprica.
In North America there is a variant of muscaria found called guesowii, that is known colloquially as the American Yellow Fly Agaric. Also, muscaria can come into season in late summer in that region, whereas in Europe we do not see them until autumn is in full swing at least. If this was found early summer I would consider a different amanita ID to a muscaria as possibly a bit too early :)
In that case, I am torn between the Amanita muscaria variant guessowii, or possibly even an Amanita chrysoblema. Absolutely stunning find either way. We very rarely get the yellow variants of muscaria in my locale, they are beautiful. Thanks for the picture :)
I actually think this is an Amanita aprica, or the Sunshine Amanita. But it is sometimes possible to find muscarias that are paler than their usual distinctive red.
The way to know for certain would be checking what time of year you found it, where you found it, and what kind of tree and habitat it was in.
Get two birds stoned at once!
I don't watch these myself, but I have a friend with dyslexia who enjoys them because she struggles with reading for long. She says that an actual human reading them and chatting about the content is more entertaining than the robotic text-to-speech aids she uses for other things.
Thank you, fingers crossed for this time :)
Hey there! Absolutely love the idea for this game. I applied for the last Beta wave but didn't get through, am I able to apply again for the new wave?
I get the majority of my son’s stuff on Vinted and sell on stuff that’s still decent quality, the cost of new clothing for kids just keeps sky rocketing and they only fit into them for such a short time anyways.
I also go to local kids’ clothes and toys charity sales and find so much for him, especially barely used books for mere pence!
That makes so much sense. I’m gonna start doing that myself. Thanks for the tip!
That’s interesting, what are the benefits of having a different app for different servers?
I’ve been using Voyager (or wefwef as it used to be known) since day one here at Lemmy. Moved over from Reddit when the API changes were announced, and then any potential negotiations with Reddit and third party app developers broke down.
All the time! I studied Latin and Classical History for years so it’s a deep interest of mine. I often reminisce about the trip I took to Italy with my Latin class to visit Pompeii and Herculaneum.
This is so wholesome. I love finding hand made knitted/crocheted items for my toddler when I’m shopping second hand. I always like to think that their creator would be happy to know that they’ve kept another little one looking cool and keeping warm ‘n cosy with their labour of love. :)
I’m listening now and enjoying it! I feel like these would be a great soundtrack for an indie game :)

I challenged myself one night to record myself improvising on my piano, after a few glasses of wine. I ended up lost in some kind of trance pouring my heart out into the keys. I’ve never been quite able to recreate it again.
I still enjoy listening to it from time to time, it’s a shame I had let a friend borrow my studio mic and just had my phone to record with at the time. Although perhaps the grainy phone recording quality is what adds to the timbre of it.
Love this song, massive Placebo fan. Had the pleasure of seeing them live a few years back. :)
Thank you again, yes hopefully this might be something that is a future problem as lemmy grows, at the moment everyone seems pretty alright on here. My worry is that if/when lemmy becomes easier to access to non-techies and more people (looking at you Threads ugh), then we will start having problems. I hope we defederate and do it soon.

Breastfeeding - a new community to discuss and find support about breastfeeding

A place for those who are breastfeeding (and those who aren’t but would like to learn more, all are welcome!)
A place to swap stories, pics, tips, ask questions and find support for this beautiful, but often challenging, journey that mamas around the world embark on.

only apply post sorting mode to the feed you are browsing
Hi there. Thanks for making wefwef (soon to be Voyager!), I am loving it so far and you’ve done so well in such a short time.
I’ve got a feature request that I think would improve usability:
Currently, if I’m browsing all via Hot, and then find an interesting community and visit there and sort by Top (All Time), when I’m ready to go back to all, it keeps that Top (All Time) sort enabled and I lose my place and the post I was looking at. Sometimes I remember to reset it before I go back but not always. Often I end up having to scroll way back to the top to begin again looking at recent Hot posts as the order has changed and it’s kept me scrolled X amount through the post timeline.
I think it would be great if the sort option didn’t persist and instead reverted back to what you had selected when you were at that point originally.
Thank you, Obscura :)
